MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST HANGS ON TO BEAT MINNEAPOLIS NORTH IN A FAST GAME

It was Homecoming for the Minneapolis Southwest Lakers on Saturday afternoon and a large crowd including much of the student body attended the game. North got up 14-0 in a game that started off looking like a track meet. The Polars led after the first quarter 14-12, but the Lakers took a 24-12 lead at the half and led by 16-points after the three. Both teams played at a very high level in the fourth quarter with the Polars scoring 16-points. However Southwest put up 6-points in the last period and Elliot Mathew had a great game, passing for 5-touchdowns and 493 yards on the way to the Lakers 36-30 victory.
