PAT MADISON MAGIC TOOK ON KING TUTT’S FORTRESS IN THE 2010 JUNE MILLER PRO CITY LEAGUE

In the first game of the evening Pat Madison Magic took on King Tutt’s Fortress. Coming into the game Pat Madison Magic had a record of 1-1. King Tutt’s Fortress had a record of 0-2 coming into the game.

Both teams started out the game wanting to find their own pace. King Tutt’s Fortress’ guards looked to penetrate to the basket. If they were able to find their shot they would take it.

Both teams looked very sharp on the defensive end. Neither team gave up easy baskets in the early going.

Both teams did a good job of using the shot clock. They were able to take a lot of time off of the clock before taking their shot.

At the end of the first quarter the score was King Tutt’s Fortress 21 and Pat Madison Magic 22.

As the second quarter got underway both teams continued to go strong at each other. The defensive pressure didn’t seem to bother either team.

Pat Madison Magic was able to string together some point’s midway through the second quarter. King Tutt’s Fortress didn’t get frustrated.

Austin Hollins who is a University of Minnesota recruit really ran the floor well. He looked to get his teammates involved in the game. He also was not afraid to shoot the ball.

Pat Madison Magic went on a run midway through the second quarter.

At halftime the score was Pat Madison 59 and King Tutt’s Fortress 32.

Dominique Dawson found his shot during the first half as he scored 21 of King Tutt’s Fortress’ points. Dawson plays at the University of Minnesota. He redshirted during the 2009-2010 basketball season.

As the third quarter got underway Pat Madison really put the scoring into cruise control. They were not able to get slowed down. They were able to get everyone involved in the scoring.

At the end of the third quarter the score was Pat Madison 75 and King Tutt’s Fortress 48.

There was a lot of cherry picking by both teams in the fourth quarter. Both teams were tired and the game got sloppy. The defense suffered as there were a lot more open looks to the basket by both teams.

Pat Madison came away with the 99-67 victory over King Tutt’s Fortress.

The leading scorers for King Tutt’s Fortress were Larry Brown with 15 points and Dominique Dawson with 25 and the leading scorers for Pat Madison were Lamar Morre with 26 points and Mike Schactner with 23 points.
