OSSEO TOOK ON COON RAPIDS IN A HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAME

Osseo traveled to Coon Rapids High School for a football game. Coon Rapids kicked off to Osseo to begin the game. On the first drive of the game Bridge Tusler ran the ball in for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was no good.

With 11:17 left in the first quarter the score was Osseo 6 and Coon Rapids 0.

Coon Rapids got the ball on their 30 yard line. On the first drive they mostly kept the ball on the ground. They wanted to get the ball into the hands of Shaq Theus. He was able to weave his way around the Osseo defenders.

Coon Rapids took a timeout with 9:13 left in the first quarter. They had fourth down and seven yards to go for a first down. Out of the timeout they punted the ball away to Osseo.

Osseo got the ball on their four yard line. Osseo used both an air and ground attack throughout the first quarter. They were able to chew up a lot of yards on the ground. Osseo's quarterback DJ Herbert was quick on his feet. He was able to get past the Coon Rapids defenders. Osseo was not able to get a first down so they had to punt the ball to Coon Rapids on fourth down and 19 yards to go.

Coon Rapids got the ball back after Osseo failed to get a first down. Osseo's defense did a good job of getting to the Coon Rapids quarterback Michael Weaver. They were able to get him out of his game.

Osseo got the ball back because Coon Rapids couldn't get a first down. Osseo's Bridge Tusler did a good of running with the ball. He was able to blow by his defenders and make some big plays on the offense.

Osseo threatened to score late in the first quarter.

Osseo took a timeout with 51.7 seconds left in the first quarter.

Osseo was not able to convert on fourth down and they had to punt the ball back to Coon Rapids.

Coon Rapids got the ball back. At the end of the first quarter the score was Osseo 12 and Coon Rapids 0.

Coon Rapids got the ball to start the second quarter.

Coon Rapids called a time out with 11:26 left in the second quarter. The score was Osseo 12 and Coon Rapids 0.

Coon Rapids was not able to convert on fourth down so they turned the ball over to Osseo.

Osseo continued to look to pound the ball on the ground. Osseo threatened to score midway through the second quarter. Tyler Stromback for Osseo scored a touchdown on a pass from DJ Hebert with 9:30 left in the second quarter. The extra point attempt was good. That made the Osseo 19 and Coon Rapids 0.

Osseo kicked off to Coon Rapids after the touchdown. Coon Rapids continued to look to the running attack. They were not able get past the Osseo defenders.


Grant Sealock for Osseo intercepted a pass and that gave Osseo  the ball back. Tim Searcy was able to chew up some of the field as he was again able to get past the Coon Rapids defenders. Bridge Tusler once again was able to hit a hole and find major running room that brought the ball to the three yard line.

Bridge Tulser scored a touchdown with 4:24 left in the second quarter. The extra point attempt was good. The score after the touchdown was Osseo 26 and Coon Rapids 0.

Osseo kicked off to Coon Rapids after the Osseo touchdown. Coon Rapids got the ball on their 20-yard line. The Coon Rapids quarterback Pierre Roddy had a hard time figuring out what he wanted to do with the ball.

Osseo got the ball back and Bridge Tusler scored a touchdown with 42.7 seconds left in the second quarter. The two point conversion was good. With the touchdown and two point conversion the score was Osseo 34 and Coon Rapids 0.

At halftime the score was Osseo 34 and Coon Rapids 0.

Osseo kicked off to Coon Rapids to start the third quarter. Coon Rapids couldn’t get anything going on their first drive of the third quarter and they had to punt the ball to Osseo.

Osseo punted the ball back to Coon Rapids because they couldn’t get a first down. Will Elliott was able to pick up a first down for Coon Rapids. Coon Rapids threatened to score midway through the third quarter. Tyler Lursen picked off a Coon Rapids pass that gave Osseo the ball back.

Osseo's DJ Hebert found Bridge Tusler in the end zone for a touchdown with 5:40 left in the third quarter. The extra point attempt was good. With 5:40 left in the third quarter the score was Osseo 41 and Coon Rapids 0.

Coon Rapids got the ball back after the touchdown but they were not able to get a first down and they turned it over to Osseo. Osseo threatened to score late in the third quarter. Ali Kanan found Cal Bloom in the end zone for an Osseo touchdown with 1:45 left in the third quarter. The extra point attempt was no good. That made the score Osseo 47 and Coon Rapids 0.

Coon Rapids got the ball to start the fourth quarter. They wanted to try to get their offense going. Even though they couldn't find the end zone they didn't give up.

At the end of the third quarter the score was Osseo 47 and Coon Rapids 0.

Tim Kelly for Osseo found the end zone with 9:25 left in the fourth quarter for an Osseo touchdown. The extra point attempt was good.

With that touchdown the score was Osseo 54 and Coon Rapids 0.

Osseo's Garrison Gillard came up with a good catch late in the contest. 


Osseo came up with the 54-0 victory over Coon Rapids. I thought that they played well throughout the whole game. I also thought that DJ Hebert and Bridgeport Tusler played very well.

After the game I was able to catch up and talk to Osseo's Bridgeport Tulser and head coach Darrin Lamker about the game.

One thing I noticed right away and it was the first time I have saw it this year at a high school game was the referee wore a microphone so all of the calls he made were played over the loud speaker. I only noticed that in college and professional games. It was the first time I have seen it in a regular season game.
