MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST LAKERS TOOK ON THE FARMINGTON TIGERS IN A REGION FOOTBALL GAME


The Minneapolis Southwest Lakers traveled to Farmington to take on the Farmington Tigers in a region football game. Southwest had the number three seed and had a record of 8-1 over all coming into the game. Farmington had a record of 6-2 and the number 2 seed coming into the game.

Southwest kicked off to Farmington to start the game. Evan Winter did the kicking for Southwest. The kick went out of bounds and Farmington got the ball on the 35 yard line.

Farmington looked to keep the ball on the ground in the on the first drive. Farmington was not afraid to pass it either. They punted the ball on fourth and 10 yards to go.

Southwest got the ball on their own 35 yard line. They looked attack the Farmington defense. The Farmington defenders stepped up as they didn't want to give Southwest any easy plays. On fourth down they punted the ball back to Farmington.

Farmington once again got the ball back on the their own 24 yard line. Farmington tried to move the ball on short slant routs as they wanted to get the ball north and south as quick as they could. Farmington's quarterback Darren Beenken came up with a nice pass to Tyler VanWinkle that gave Farmington a first down near midfield. Derek Klotter picked up some running room as he broke away for short yardage. Beenken looked for his receivers and was able to find them Johny Dittman came up with a 34 yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt by Reid Taubenheim was good.

With 3:54 left in the first quarter the score was Farmington 7 and Minneapolis Southwest 0.

Farmington kicked off after the touchdown. Southwest got the ball on their own 20 yard line. Southwest looked to get the ball into the hands of running back DeAnthony McKinley who looked to weave in and out of traffic but was not able to come up with a first down so Southwest punted the ball on fourth down and one yard to go. There was no return on the punt.

Farmington got the ball on their own 33 yard line. Derek Klotter got the ball and tried to make his was down the field but he was met by a a bunch of Laker defenders. Darren Meenken found Mackinley Basset for a 67 yard touchdown reception. Reid Taubenhiem's extra point attempt was good.

With 15.02 seconds left in the first half the score was Farmington 14 and Southwest 0.

Southwest got the ball on their own 29 yard line as the second quarter got underway. Southwest's quarterback Darin Richardson had trouble getting the ball out of hands. On fourth down and nine yards to go Southwest punted the ball.

Farmington got the ball on their own 45 yard line. DeAnthony McKinley caused a fumble and Southwest came up with it on the Farmington 39 yard line.

Southwest tried some trickery as they looked to come up with some quick yards. Southwest was able to move the ball down the field. Camend Knuckles came up just short. On fouth down they went for it as DeAnthony McKinley came up with a first down reception. Darin Richardson came up with an 18 yard touchdown run. Evan Winters extra point attempt was good.

With 8:00 left to go in the second quarter the score was Farmington 14 and Southwest 7.

Soutwest kicked off after the touchdown. The ball went into the end zone. Farmington got the ball on their 20 yard line. Darren Deenken had some difficulty finding his receivers. On the next play they put it on the ground. Not able to get a first down on fourth down and 12 to go Farmington kicked the ball and Southwest was not able to return it.

Southwest got the ball on the Farmington 35 yard line. Maurice Alexander came up with a nice one yard reception. Southwest was called for holding. That brought up second down and 20 yards to go. Richardson found Jimmy Roth who came up with a good 5 yard gain. Al-Jureau Ray came up short on a pass. Southwest punted the ball. Farmington fumbled the ball and Alfred Hartwell came up with a touchdown. The extra point attempt was blocked.

With 5:10 left in the second quarter the score was Farmington 14 and Southwest 13.

Southwest kicked off after the touchdown. Jordan DeCroock returned the ball to the 31 yard line where Farmington took over. Derek Klotter was not able to find a hole to go through and came up with two yards before he was stopped. Johnny Dittman came up with a first down reception as he got the ball to their own 44 yard line. Tyler VanWinkle came up with a first down reception. Farmington was on Southwest's 32 yard line. Jordan DeCroock came up with a nice reception and catch to put Farmington on the Southwest's 17 yard line and into the red zone. Farmington was knocking on the door as they looked to get the ball into the end zone. CJ Wynings came up with a tochdown reception Reid Taubenheim extra point attempt was good.

With 2:07 left in the second quarter the score was Farmington 21 and Southwest 13.

Reid Taubenheim kicked off after the touchdown and Farmington came up with the ball. Farmington got the ball on the Southwest's 27 yard line. Derek Klotter came up with a first down. Farmington looked to the end zone again and that’s when Klotter came up with a 25 yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good. With 1:02 left in the second quarter the score was Farmington 28 and Southwest 13.

Farmington kicked off after the touchdown. Southwest got the ball on their 14 yard line. Southwest let the clock run out.

At halftime the score was Farmington 28 and Southwest 13.

Farmington kicked off to start the third quarter. Southwest got the ball on their own 28 yard line. Dantavian Sears came up with a nice run for Southwest. Darin Richardson came up with a first down. Camden Knuckles for Southwest had a nice reception for his team. Dantavian Sears came up with a first down for Southwest. Farmington was hit with a 15 yard penalty. That gave Southwest a first down on the 27 yard line. Darin Richardson did a good job of running the ball as he was able to pick up a first down and get Southwest to the 15 yard line. Camden Knuckles came up with a 15 yard touchdown reception. Farmington was called for encroachment. Southwest decided to go for a two point conversion as Dantavin Sears two point conversion was good.

With 8:21 left I the third quarter the score was Farmington 28 and Southwest 21.

Southwest kicked off to Farmington after the touchdown. Jordan DeCroock came up with a nice reception as he got the ball to the Farmington 29 yard line. Farmington kept the ball on the ground as Derek Klotter came up with a nice reception. Olver West came up with a interception for Southwest that gave Southwest the ball back.

Southwest got the ball on their own 25 yard line. Darin Richardson fumbled the ball but he was able to recover it. On second down and 15 to go the Farmington defense stepped up and was able to bring down the quarterback. Southwest tried again and the defense was able to get the quarterback again and Southwest had to punt the ball on fourth down and 28 yards to go. The punt was blocked and Farmington got the ball back on the Southwest 10 yard.

Farmington's Derek Klotter ran nine yards for the touchdown and Mason Gaylord's extra point attempt was good.

With 5:19 left in the third quarter the score was Farmington 35 and Southwest 21.

Farmington kicked off to Southwest after the touchdown. Jimmy Roth fumbled the ball but was able to return it to his 22 yard line.

Southwest got the ball on their own 22 yard line and Darin Richardson tried to find some room but was not able to. Dantavian Sears got the ball and looked to get a first down. DeAnthony McKinley came up with a nice screen pass for a Southwest first down. He again got the ball and was stopped at the line of scrimmage. Darin Richardson over threw Camden Knuckles on second down. Jimmy Roth came up with a nice 65 reception and scored a touchdown. The Evan Winter extra point attempt was good.

With 2:28 left in the third quarter the score was Farmington 35 and Southwest 28.

Southwest kicked off after the touchdown and Jordan DeCroock ran the ball out to the 33 yard line. Farmington kept the ball on the ground as the Southwest defense stepped up and held their ground. Farmington punted the ball on fourth down and six yards to go.

Southwest got the ball on their own 34 yard line. Farmington was called for pass interferance and was given a 15 yard penitley. The ball was on their own 44 yard line. Dantavian Sears scored a 44 yard running touchdown. The extra point attempt by Evan Winter was good. The score with 58.7 left to go in the third quarter was tied at 35.

Southwest kicked off after the touchdown. Farmington got the ball on their own 26 yard line. Tyler VanWinkle came up with a nice 61 yard reception.

At the end of the third quarter the score was tied at 35.

Farmington got the ball on the Southwest 13 yard line. Derek Klotter came up with a nice recption to give Farmington a second down and six yards to go. Darren Beenken found Mackinley Bassett for a six yard touchdown. The extra point attempt was good.

With 11:17 left to go in regulation the score was Farmington 42 and Southwest 35.

Farmington kicked off after the touchdown. Southwest got the ball on their 18 yard line. Dantanvian Sears came up with a five yard. Sears was able to get another five yard pass for a first down. Jackson Hurst picked up seven yards on the play. Southwest came up with a first down on a quarterback keep. Southwest fumbled the ball and Southwest came up with it. On third down and ten yards to go Jackson Hurst came up with a huge reception for 31 yards and a Southwest first down. The pass was inception by Manson Gaylord.

Farmington got the ball on their 11 yard line after Manson Gaylord's interception. Derek Klotter came up with some nice plays. Jordan DeCroock came up with a reception that gave Farmington first down. Derek Klotter picked up another first down. Farmington looked to continued to push the ball down the field.

Southwest called a timeout with 6:40 left in regulation. The score was Farmington 42 and Southwest 35.

Farmington had the ball on second down and four yards to go and Derek Klotter came up big as he found a hole in the Southwest defense. On first and 10 yards to go Derek Klotter got the ball and looked to grind up turf but was not able to. Darren Beenken found Mackinley Bassett for a 17 yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was good.

With 4:42 left in regulation the score was Farmington 49 and Southwest 35.

Farmington kicked off after the Southwest touchdown. Southwest got the ball on their own 40 yard line. Mayson Gaylord intercepted the ball that gave Farmington the ball back.

Farmington got the ball on the Southwest 42 yard line. Derek Klotter once again came up with some nice plays to keep the clock moving. Farmington punted the ball on fourth down and four yards to go. There was no return.

Southwest got the ball back and they fumbled the ball and Farmington came up with the ball. Farmington got the ball on the 28 yard line. Farmington did a good job of getting Derek Klotter the ball as he was able to dance around the field throughout the game. Southwest took over on downs.

Southwest got the ball on their own 26 yard line. They were able to move the ball down the field and they tried to go for the first down late in the contest but were unsuccessful as the final buzzer rang.

In a very entertaining game Farmington came away with the 49-35 victory over Minneapolis Southwest.
