HERITAGE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY TOOK ON LESTER PRAIRIE/HOLY TRINITY IN A BOYS BASKETBALL GAME

Heritage and Lester Prairie went up against each other in a boys basketball game. Both teams looked to move the ball down the floor as they wanted to score baskets in transition.
 
Heritage came out alive as they were able to score baskets in transition.
 
Lester Prairie swung the ball around the three-point line as they looked to get the ball into the hands of Alex Heigl. Heigl was able to hit a mid-range jump shot constantly in the first half.
 
There were many ties and lead changes throughout the first half. Neither team went on a run.   
 
Heritage got the ball into the hands of Drew Kleinschmidt. He was able to get hot from the paint. The defense had a hard time slowing him down.  
 
Lester Prairie’s Nick Machemehl came up with some nice layups in the first half.
 
Heritage’s Spenser Bland hit his layups to keep his team in the game.
 
At halftime the score was Heritage 30, Lester Prairie 29.
 
Heritage spent the first half in a zone defense, and opened the second in the same set.
 
Heritage looked to get the ball into the hands of CJ Woda and Kleinschmidt in the second half. Both of those guys took the ball hard to the basket as they were able to make lay-ups.
 
The score continued to go back and forth throughout the second half.
 
Lester Prairie’s Nathan Anderson came up with some big three-point baskets in the second half to keep his team in the game.
 
Lester Prairie continued to get the ball into the hands of Machemehl who was able to hit his layups.
 
Both teams had to work hard for their shots because the other team was playing hard on the defensive end.  
 
Bland was able to come up with some defensive steals and was able to come up with the offensive baskets.
 
Lester Prairie called a timeout with 6:11 left in regulation. The score was Heritage 51, Lester Prairie 44.
 
Lester Prairie looked to trap late in the contest and force Heritage to turn it over.
 
Heritage was able to hit their shots late in the game.  
 
Heritage came away with the 62-48 victory over Lester Prairie.    
 
The leading scorer for Lester Prairie was Machemehl with 20 points.
 
The leading scores for Heritage were Woda and Kleinschmidt each with 17 points.
