PRINCETON WENT UP AGAINST BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S IN THE STATE GIRLS SOCCER SEMIFINALS

On Nov. 4, Princeton and Benilde-St. Margaret’s (BSM) squared off against each other in the state girls semifinals of the Minnesota State High School League soccer tournament.
 
BSM did a good job of moving the ball down the field and was able to get everyone involved in the offense.
 
BSM found the goal on goal by Taylor Gelling and was assisted by teammate Sophie Roux with 28:28 left in the first half.
 
With that goal that made the score BSM 1, Princeton 0.
 
BSM continued to push the ball down the field and were able to get everyone involved in the play.
 
At halftime the score was BSM 1, Princeton 0.
 
As the second half got underway both teams continued to move the ball well down the field.
 
Rouz was all over the field in the second half. She had some good shots on goal but the Princeton goal keeper came up with some big saves.
 
BSM’s Maren Noble found scored a goal with 14:43 left in regulation. With Noble’s goal that made the score BSM 2, Princeton 0.
 
Princeton fought hard throughout the game. They were all over the field. Even though they had a difficulty making shots they didn’t get down on themselves as they kept attacking the goal.
 
With 5:07 left in regulation BSM’s Aleksa Tataryn scored a goal on a header. Roux got the assist.
 
With 5:07 left in regulation the score was BSM 3, Princeton 0.
 
BSM continued to look to get shots on goal.
 
In the end BSM came away with the 3-0 victory over Princeton.
