Braham and New Richland went up aginst
each other in the class AA state championship game in the state
tournament.
Braham looked to get the ball into the
hands of Rebkah Dalham. Dahlman was all over the floor. She was able
to get the ball and do what she wanted to do.
At the first media timeout with 14:28
left in the first half the score was New Richland 4 and Braham 2.
New Richland looked to get the ball
into the hands of Carlie Wagner.
The game was close throughout the first
half. Neither team was able to go on a run.
There was a media timeout with 10:56
left in the first half. The score was New Richland 11 and Braham 6.
New Richland looked to trap Dalham and
force her to turn the ball over. Wagner was all over the floor.
There was a media timeout with 6:49
left in the first half. The score was New Richland 17 and Braham 7.
New Richland wans able to string some
baskets together late in the first half. Braham had trouble finding
the basket late in the first half. They didn't get down on themselves
as they kept on shooting the ball.
At the final media timeout with 3:06
left in the first half the score was New Richland 23 and Braham 12.
As the fist half wound down New
Richland continued to look well. Carley Wagner was all over the
floor and was able to get her shot going.
In a very good first half of play at
half time the score was New Richland 27 and Braham 15.
As the second half for underway Braham
came out on fire. They really looked for Dahlman to get the ball in
the basket.
Braham really came out strong in the
second half. They were able to string baskets together to start the
second half.
There was a media timeout with 14:01
left in regulation. The score was New Richland 31 and Braham 28.
Carley Wagner was able to take the ball
full court and make her lay-ups.
New Richland called a timeout with
12:23 left in the game. The score was New Richland 35 and Braham 32.
Braham went on a run and they were able
to get a lead of 37-35 at the media timeout with 10:50 left in the
game. That was the first time Braham had the lead the whole game.
There was a media timeout with 6:58
left in regulation. The score was New Richland 44 and Brahham 42.
New Richland was able to drain some
deep three-point shots to stay in the game.
The game came down to the wire.
At the final media timeout with 3:51
left in the game the score was New Richland 51 and Braham 45.
Braham went on a run late in the
contest and the agme Dahlman fouled out with 37.4 seconds left in the
game and she had32 points.
The game was tied Wagner made out of
two free throws to New Richland a 1 point lead with 5.3 seconds left
in regulation.
Braham didn't give up but it wasn't enough as New Richland came away with the 60-59 victory over
Braham.
This game will go down as one of the
best games of tournament history. Both teams did a very good job of
playing each other. The crowd got into the game and they were not disappointed.
The play of Wagner and Dahlman were
just fantastic. This was by far one great game and it will go down as
a great game in history.
The leading scorers for Braham were
Dahlman with 32 points and Kayla Nickles with 12 points.
The leading scorer for New Richland was
Wagner with 50 points.
