ANNANDALE WENT UP AGAINST MINNEHAHA ACADEMY IN A CLASS 2A GIRLS’ QUARTERFINAL BASKETBALL STATE GAME

Annandale and Minnehaha Academy squared off in a girls’ state quarterfinal basketball game.

Minnehaha Academy looked to push the ball down the floor quickly as they built an 8-2 lead with 13:45 left in the first half.

The score went back and forth throughout in the first half. Neither team gave up easy baskets.

Minnehaha Academy called a timeout with 8:55 left in the first half. The score was Minnehaha 10, Annandale 6.

Annandale’s Brittany Reimer and Kamryn D'Heilly both came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half. The defense had a hard time slowing them down.

Annandale called a timeout with 5:02 left in the first half. The score was Minnehaha 17, Annandale 10.

Minnehaha did a good job playing at the tempo that they wanted to play at.

At halftime the score was Minnehaha 19 and Annandale 14.

As the second half got underway Minnehaha did a good job of pushing the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.

Minnehaha called a timeout with 12:02 left in regulation. The score was Minnehaha 31, Annandale 25.

Annandale continued to look to get the ball into the hands of Kamryn D'Heilly, Brittany Reimer,
Hannah Spaulding and Hannah Purcell all who were able to come up with jump shots and layups.

Minnehaha came away with the 49-38 victory over Annandale.

The leading scorers for Annandale were 15   Kamryn D'Heilly with 15 points, Reimer with 9 points and Hannah Spaulding also with 9 points.

The leading scorers for Minnehaha were Roades with 13 points and Thomey with 10 points.
