BRECK WENT UP AGAINST LEGACY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 30 Breck and Legacy Christian Academy squared off in a boys' basketball game at Hopkins High School.
 
Legacy started out the game in a zone defense. They made Breck pass the ball around the 3-point line to get into their offense.
 
Legacy trapped the ball as they looked for steals out of the trap.
 
Breck’s Ramaud Chiaokhiao-Bowman attacked the basket and was able to hit mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half. If he didn’t think that he had a good shot, he would pass it to one of his teammates.
 
Breck called a timeout with 10:44 left in the first half. The score was Breck 15, Legacy 14.
 
The defensive pressure that both teams applied made it difficult for the other team to make uncontested shot attempts.
 
Breck called a timeout with 7:44 left in the first half. The score was Legacy 23, Breck 18.
 
Legacy did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense. They passed the ball around to each other and communicated well while on the floor.
 
Legacy was able to come up with steals on the defensive end and convert those steals into layups on the offensive end.
 
Legacy called a timeout with 3:06 left in the first half. The score was Legacy 29, Breck 27.
 
Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls. It was a very physical game.
 
Legacy came up with shots late in the first half.
 
At halftime the score was Legacy 41, Breck 33.
 
As the second half got underway Breck continued to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition. Breck got the ball into the hands of Grant Opperman. Opperman came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. He kept his team in the game.
 
Legacy was able to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition. Breck wasn’t able to slow Legacy down in transition.
 
Breck wasn’t able to score baskets in transition late in the second half.  
 
Legacy stayed in their zone defense late in the game. Breck struggled to shoot the ball throughout the second half.
 
Legacy came away with the 73-57 victory over Breck.
