ROBBINSDALE COOPER WENT UP AGAINST ACADEMY OF HOLY ANGELS IN A FOOTBALL GAME

On Sept. 20, Robbinsdale Cooper and Academy of Holy Angels squared off in a high school football game. Coming into the game Cooper came into the game with a record of 2-1. While Holy Angels came into the game with a record of 3-0.

Cooper kicked off to Holy Angels to start the game. Holy Angels started on their own 25-yard line.

Holy Angels kept the ball on the ground on their first drive. Holy Angels Tristin Wiggins came up with a first down reception. They looked to get into the end zone early. Holy Angels William Ballard came up with huge reception for a first down. Holy Angels’ Joe Longo came up with a 2-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.

With 9:23 left in the first quarter the score was Holy Angels 7, Cooper 0.

The kickoff went into the end zone for a touchback. Cooper took over on their own 20-yard line. Coopers Sherood Russell got the ball and looked to take the ball down the field. Cornelius Wootten came up with a diving catch. Cooper used both a running and a passing attack to try to move the ball down the field. Russell came up with a long run for a first down. Terrence Matthews came up with a long run for a first down. Cooper looked to get into the end zone. The Holy Angels defense stepped up big and slowed down the Cooper offense. On 4th down Cooper went for it and couldn’t get a first down and Holy Angels took over on downs.

Holy Angels took over on their own 30-yard line. Holy Angels tried to move the ball down the field. Quarterback Theo Doran was able to get the ball into his teammate’s hands. On 4th-and -14 Holy Angels punted the ball.

Cooper took over on their own 20-yard line. Cooper tied anyway they could to get the ball down the field. Cooper kept the ball on the ground as they got their running game going late in the first quarter. Wootten came up with some amazing diving caches that resulted in first downs. On 4th-and 8, Cooper elected to punt the ball. The ball got away from Manassen Williams. Holy Angels took over on the Cooper 42-yard line.

After one quarter the score was Holy Angels 7, Cooper 0.

Holy Angels continued to look to get the ball down the field. Holy Angels Tomas Mahoney came up with a first down reception. Holy Angels’ Emmit Johnson came up with an 8-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt by Conor O’Rourke was good.

With 10:24 left in the second quarter the score was Holy Angels 14, Cooper 0.

Joseph Law came up with the kickoff return. Cooper took over on their own 14-yard line. Cooper continued to move the ball down the field. Cooper quarterback Joseph Russell kept the ball on the ground. He knew where his teammates were on the field. If Russell thought that he knew his teammates were open, he wasn’t afraid to get them the ball. On 4th-and-13 Cooper punted the ball to Holy Angels. Johnson came up with catches that led to first down.

Holy Angels took over on their own 39-yard line.  

Cooper called a timeout with 6:20 in the second quarter. The score was Holy Angels 14, Cooper 0.

Holy Angels looked to take the ball down field. On 4th-and-15 Holy Angels punted the ball.

Cooper took over on the 50-yard line. Cooper kept the ball on the ground. The Holy Angels defense stepped up and slowed the Cooper offense down. Russell looked to get into the end zone late in the second quarter. Russell came up with an 8-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt by Alex Martinez was good.

With 2:39 left in the second quarter the score was Holy Angels 14, Cooper 7.

Holy Angels took over on their own 35-yard line after an infraction. Holy Angels. Holy Angels William Ballard came up with a huge first down reception. Emmit Johnson came up with a reception in traffic. That brought the ball to the 12-yard line.

Holy Angels called a timeout with 1:12 left in the second quarter. The score was Holy Angels 14, Cooper 7.

Johnson came up with a 12-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.

With 1:05 left in the second quarter the score was Holy Angels 21, Cooper 7.

Coopers’ Joseph Law came up with a 95-yard kick off return for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was good.

With 48 seconds left in the second quarter the score was Holy Angels 21, Cooper 14.

Holy Angels took over on their own 20-yard line. Holy Angels got the ball down the field quickly. Ballard came up with a huge reception for a first down and got Holy Angels into their red zone. Ballard came up with a 12-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was not good.

With 17 seconds left in the second quarter the score was Holy Angels 27, Cooper 14.

At halftime the score was Holy Angels 27, Cooper 14.  

Holy Angels kicked off to start the third quarter. Cooper took over on their own 13-yard line. Russell found a hole and came up with a first down run. Russell passed to Joseph Law for a first down reception. Wilson came up with a first down that put the ball on the 7-yard line. Russell came up with a 12-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt by Martinez was good.

With 8:07 left in the third quarter the score was Holy Angels 27, Cooper 21.

Holy Angels got the ball on their 20-yard line. Robinson came up with another first down reception. On 4th-and-9 Holy Angels punted the ball.

Cooper took over on their own 41-yard line. Davion Evans came up with a reception that moved the ball down the field. Russell came up with a first down run. Terrence Matthews came up with a first down run that moved the chains. The Holy Angels defense stepped up and slowed down the Cooper offense. On 4th-and-14 Cooper went for it. Law came up with a huge catch. Dontae Williams came up with a 3-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was not good.

With 2:31 left in the third quarter the score was tied at 27.

Holy Angels took over on their own 24-yard line. Holy Angels kept the ball on the ground as they moved the ball down the field late in the third quarter. Taurean Cane for Cooper picked off the pass that gave the ball back to Cooper.

Cooper took over on their own 32-yard line.

After three quarters of play the score was tied at 27.

Cooper moved the ball down the field but were not able to come up with a first down, so they punted the ball on 4th-and-7.

Holy Angels took over on their own 46-yard line. Holy Angels Johnson moved the ball down the field as he found holes in the Copper defense. Joe Longo came up with short run for a first down. Johnson came up with a 26-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.

With 7:56 left in the fourth quarter the score was Holy Angels 34, Cooper 27.

The ball went into the end zone for a touch back. Cooper took over on their own 20-yard line. Cooper couldn’t move the ball and punted on 4th-and-20.

Holy Angels took over on their own 49-yard line. Holy Angels got the ball into the hands of Johnson who looked to move the ball down the field. Holy Angels was intercepted by Keten.

Cooper looked to get into the end zone late in regulation. Williams came up with a first down reception. Cooper’s Russell came up with a 3-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.

With 47 seconds left in regulation the score was tied at 34.

Holy Angels looked to move the ball down the field late in the game. Holy Angels punted on 4th-down.  

Cooper looked to score late in the game but were unsuccessful. After regulation the score was tied at 34.

There was an overtime period.  Both teams got the ball on the 10-yard line and it was first and-10.

Cooper started with the ball on the 10-yard line. Cooper tired both running and passing plays to get into the end zone. Russle found Wooten in the end zone for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was good. That made the score Cooper 41, Holy Angels 34.

Holy Angels got their try at the end zone on 1st-and-10 on the 10-yard line. The first play was a dropped pass. On 2nd-and-10 Holy Angels. Johnson came up with a 2-yard run. Mahoney came up short on a reception. On 4th-and-8 Holy Angels came up short and Cooper won the game.

The final of the game was Cooper 41, Holy Angels 34.
