UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS WENT UP AGAINST HAMLINE UNIVERSITY IN A FOOTBALL GAME

On Sept. 21, St Thomas University and Hamline went up against each other in a football game. The weather was cloudy with a good chance of rain. St. Thomas had a record of 1-0 while Hamline had a record of 1-1. 

Hamline kicked off to start the game. St. Thomas got the ball on their own 33-yard line. Gabe Green came up with a 17-yard reception. St. Thomas moved the ball down the field quickly. St. Thomas Josh Parks came up with a 4-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion
 was not good. 

With 13:24 left in the first quarter, the score was St. Thomas 6, Hamline 0. 

Hamline took over on their own 27-yard line. Hamline’s Terrell Jones looked to find the holes in the defense. 

Hamline called a timeout with 12:11 left in the first quarter. 

Hamline’s Matt Miller came up with a first down reception. Hamline looked to get into the end zone midway through the first quarter. On 4th-and-14 Hamline went for it but were not able to come up with a first down. Hamline turned the ball over on downs. 

St. Thomas took over on their own 24-yard line. ST. Thomas Gabe Green came up with a first down reception. St. Thomas Josh Parks came up with an 8-yard reception. St. Thomas went for it on 4th-and-3.

St. Thomas was picked off by Monty Stenroos.

Hamline’s Tann. Lunceford caught a 25-yard pass for a touchdown. Riley Bakken's extra-point kick attempt was good. 

With 5:22 left in the first quarter, the score was Hamline 7, St. Thomas 6.

St. Thomas moved the ball down the field by running down the field.  

Hamline called a timeout with 4:02 left in the first quarter. 

St. Thomas Tommy Dolan passed complete to Max Zimmerman for a 24-yard touchdown. The extra point attempt was good. 

With 3:15 left in the first quarter, the score was St. Thomas 13, Hamline 7. 

The ball went end to the end zone for a touchback. Hamline started with the ball on their own 25-yard line. On 4th-and-16
 Hamline punted the ball. 

St Thomas Josh Parks came up with a 44-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was not good. 

With 29.1 seconds left in the first quarter, the score was St. Thomas 19, Hamline 7.

Hamline kept the ball on the ground late in the quarter. 

After one quarter of play, the score was St. Thomas 19, Hamline 7. 

Hamline looked to move the ball down the field, but they were picked off near the 50-yard line. 

St. Thomas moved the ball down the field. St. Thomas Alex Parks-came up with a 28-yard touchdown reception. 

The extra point attempt was good. With 13:03 left in the second quarter, the score was St. Thomas 26, Hamline 7. 

Hamline looked to move the ball down the field, but they fumbled the ball and St. Thomas took over on the Hamline 10-yard line. 

St. Thomas Josh Parks came up with a 4-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.

With 10:56 left in the second quarter, the score was St. Thomas 33, Hamline 7.

Hamline looked to drive the ball down the field again by the running attack. They also looked to air it out. They kept the defense guessing. On 4th-and-12 they punted. 

ST. Thomas took over on the 50-yard line. St. Thomas kept the ball on the ground and in the air. St. Thomas found the end zone again on a 5-yard run by Tommy Loffer. 

The extra point attempt was good. With 8:01 left in the second quarter, the score was St. Thomas 40, Hamline 7. 

Hamline continued to move the ball down the field. Tyler Dobbs came up with a first down reception. Triston Thomas came up with a 30-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was good.

With 5:24 left in the second quarter, the score was St. Thomas 40, Hamline 14. 

St. Thomas took over on their own 18-yard line. St. Thomas Parks came up with a touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good. 

With 4:46 left in the second quarter, the score was St. Thomas 47, Hamline 14. 

Hamline took over on the 44-yard line. Hamline kept the ball on the ground late. Hamline went for it on 4th-and-4.

They were not able to come up with a first down and they turned the ball over on downs.

St. Thomas took over on their own 38-yard line. St. Thomas moved the ball down the field and continued to get the ball into the hands of Wagner. St. Thomas came up with a touchdown on a short run by Dolan. The extra point was good. 

With 25.8 seconds left in the second quarter, the score was St. Thomas 54, Hamline 14. 

Hamline tried one last time to get into the end zone but was not able to. 

At halftime, the score was St. Thomas 54, Hamline 14. 

St. Thomas kicked off to start the third quarter. Hamline took over on their own 31-yard line. Hamline tried to move the ball down the field, but the defense didn’t let it happen. Hamline punted on 4th-and-8. 

St. Thomas took over on their own 34-yard line. St. Thomas once again pounded the ball down the field. St. Thomas Loeffler came up with a 66- yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was not good. 

With 12:55 left in the third quarter, the score was St. Thomas 60, Hamline 14. 

Hamline took over on their own 25-yard line. Hamline once again tried to move the ball down the field. Hamline looked to march down the field. On 4th-and-5 Hamline went for it but was not able to come up with a first down and they turned the ball over on downs. 

St. Thomas Ronnie Jones came up with a 33-yard run. St. Thomas looked to get into the end zone late in the quarter. St. Thomas Nate Shoemaker came up with a huge reception that brought the ball to the 10-yard line. They kept the ball on the ground. St. Thomas came up with a touchdown on a 2-yard run by Wagner. The extra point attempt was good. 

With 4:16 left in the third quarter, the score was St. Thomas 67, Hamline 14. 

The ball went into the end zone for a touchback. Hamline took over on the 25-yard line. Hamline looked once again to take care of the ball and get it down the field. Hamline punted on 4th-and-6. 

St. Thomas started on their own 45-yard line. 

St. Thomas called a timeout with 1:15 left in the third quarter. The score was St. Thomas 67, Hamline 14. 

St. Thomas kept the ball on the ground late in the quarter. 

After three quarters of play, the score was St. Thomas 67, Hamline 14. 

St. Thomas kept on grinding in the fourth quarter. They were determined to get into the end zone. Jones got the ball and looked to do just that on a short drive. Josh Kootmis came up with a 5-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good. 

With 13:24 left in the fourth quarter, the score was St. Thomas 74, Hamline 14. 

Hamline looked to move the ball down the field as Jones found some room and came up with a first down run. Hamline couldn’t move the ball down the field, so they elected to punt the ball on 4th-and-13. 

St. Thomas took over on their own 39-yard line. St. Thomas Jacob Miller came up with a huge 1st
 down run. That put the ball on the Hamline 43-yard line. Miller kept the ball and looked took the ball down the field. The defense stepped up and slowed down the St. Thomas offense. St. Thomas punted on 4th-and-12. 

Hamline took over on their own 15-yard line. Hamline punted on 4th-and-5. 

Neither team moved the ball late in the game. Both teams played hard, but St. Thomas was too powerful for Hamline. 

St. Thomas came away with the 74-14 victory over Hamline.
