THE EDINA HORNETS STING THE MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST LAKERS

Minneapolis Southwest kicks off to Edina in the region quarter final game. The Minneapolis Southwest Lakers come out on defense. On Edina's first drive, Ledrius Aaron picks off an Edina pass on their first possession.

On the Southwest Lakers first drive, Lee gets the ball and finds the end zone. The extra point is good and with 7:24 here left to go in the first quarter, it is Edina 7 and Minneapolis Southwest 0.

Southwest gets the ball back and Reggie Gandy has a short gain here on his first drive. The Lakers drive down the field and it's now at 4th and 9 yards to go. They come up short and give the ball back to Edina.

Edina has gotten the ball back here and they are driving down the field. They are in the in good position to score. Anders Lee has found the end zone again, as he scores another touchdown. That was Lee's second touchdown.

The Hornets kicked off again to the Lakers. Ledarius Aaron got the ball and is charging up the field. Elliot Mathue is trying to find Ledarius Aaron, and he connects for a Southwest first down. Mathue has found Reggie Gandy and Southwest has a first down. Elliot Mathue keeps the ball and is running the ball up the field. Reggie has gotten the ball for a gain and has gotten another first down. The Lakers are charging down the field. Elliot Mathue has found Dominque Dawson for a Minneapolis Southwest touchdown. The two point conversion is no good with 2:26 left to go in the first quarter. The score is Edina 13 and Southwest 6.

Minneapolis Southwest kicks off and they try an onside-kick and have recovered the ball. On the next play, Mathue can't find any one deep down the field. Southwest is trying to get something going here, late in the first quarter. The Lakers have 4th down and 10 yards to go, and they get a delay of game. Its 4th and 15 and they have to punt it away to the Hornets.

The Hornets have gotten the ball back here. Anders Lee is rushing the ball late in the first quarter. Ander's Lee is looking sharp here in this game here. Colin Moynihan is also getting his share of the ball's in this game.

At the end of the 1st quarter, the score is Edina 13 and Minneapolis Southwest 6.

On the first drive of the second quarter, the Hornets have come out hungry. On the next play, Anders Lee has come up big, got the ball, and is having a good game. Colin Moynihan got a one yard touchdown. Stephen Asp made the two point conversion. With that touchdown and two point conversion, the score is Edina 21 and Minneapolis Southwest 6.

The Lakers get the ball back after the touchdown. The Lakers are trying to get something going here in the second quarter. The Hornets swarm the quarterback for a loss on third down, and they have to put the punt team on the field.

The Hornets go deep and Joey Herring comes up with a big catch and a first down. They are on the 6 yard line. Edina is charging and looking to sting again, midway through the second quarter. Anders Lee found Joey Herring again and the Hornets look to score. Colin Moynihan scores a touchdown. The extra point is good, and the score is Edina 28 and Minneapolis South West 6.

The Lakers are trying to get something going and Mathue gets sacked on a 10 yard loss. Mathue, again, is trying to get something going, as he scrambles up the field. With fourth down and a mile to go to get a first down, the Lakers have to punt.

Edina has the ball back and they are trying to get something going late in the second quarter. Anders Lee has just gotten sacked by Greg Gandy from Southwest. Anders Lee has just found David Newman for a 15 yard advantage. The Hornets are at fourth down and Anders Lee is going for a first down. Anders Lee is trying to find David Newman and he over shoots him. The Hornets are trying to find the end zone. The Hornets are charging down the field and they just another first down. Both teams are fighting hard here in the first half. Edina's Anders Lee has found Joey Harring for 5 yards. Anders Lee found the end zone and scored another touchdown. The extra point is good.

Southwest is going to try to get something going here late in the second quarter. The Lakers don't need to panic. The Lakers try to find the end zone but come up short.

At half time, the score is Edina 35 and Minneapolis Southwest 6.

As the second half gets underway, Edina kicks off to the Lakers. Reggie Gandy got the ball and then fumbles it. The Edina Hornets recover the ball on the seven yard line. Stephen Asp gets a 7 yard touchdown run for the Edina Hornets. On the extra point attempt, there was an off-sides call that went against the Lakers. Then the Hornets move up five yards and they try the extra point attempt again and make it. With 10:15 left to go in the third, the score is Edina 42 Minneapolis Southwest 6.

Alex Marquette has come in to become the new Edina quarterback. We will have to see what he can do. He has gotten the Hornets back into this game. Alex Marquette scores another Edina touchdown. The extra point is up and good. With 7:00 left to go in the third quarter, the Score is Edina 49 and Minneapolis Southwest 6.
The Lakers got it back here and they are back deep in their end zone. They are going to have to go deep to get the ball in to the Hornet territory. Elliot Mathue is trying to find different receivers here in this game. Elliot Mathue has just found Ledarius Aaron for a Southwest first down. Elliot Mathue has found Sam Beaver and they just got another first down. Elliot Mathue has found Ledarius Aaron again and they are now 4th down and 1 yard to go. They try to go for it and they come up short. They turn it over on downs again.

Anders Lee has come back into this game for the Hornets. The Hornets will try to score again here late in the quarter. The Hornets are going to have to punt here for the first time tonight. Reggie Gandy receives the ball and gets swarmed by the Hornets, but the Lakers have gotten the ball.

At the end of the third quarter, the score is Edina 49 and Minneapolis Southwest 6.

Minneapolis Southwest has the ball here as the fourth quarter is underway. Elliot Matheu has found Domininque Dawson. The Southwest Lakers have been passing the ball a lot in this game. Elliot Mathue was picked-off by Nate Carlson and the Lakers turned the ball over.

The Hornets are trying to score again and are pushing the ball up the field. This game is kind of getting out of hand here for the Lakers. All they can do is hold on and play this game out.

In a game that has gotten out of control from the beginning, the Edina Hornets come out and beat Minneapolis Southwest by the final of 49-6.
