IN THE 16 UNDER DIVISION MINNESOTA FURY TOOK ON THE MINNESOTA SELECT IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL CONTEST

In the 16u division of the Minnesota Comets boys’ basketball tournament Minnesota Select took on
Minnesota Fury.

Minnesota Fury started out the game in a zone defense. They looked to spread the Select team out on
offense.

Mike Bruce Fernando was able to get the Select team's offense in gear. He knew where his players
were supposed to be on the court and would let his players know where to be on the court.

Logan Donald Brown for Select took good shots. He was able to step up and knock down shots under
pressure.

Select used both a man-to-man defense and zone defenses in the first half. Select was able to slow
down the defense.

With 7:14 left in the first half the score was Select 17 and Fury 14.

Select went on a run with just under 7:00 left in the half. The Fury didn't go away though as they kept
on fighting and going after loose balls.

Select picked up at half court. They switched between zone defense and man-to-man.

Neither team went on a run in the first half.

At halftime the score was Fury 27 and Select 26.

Fury came out in man-to-man defense to open up the second half. Select also started out the second
half in man-to-man.

Fernando continued to take the ball hard to the basket. He also called for the ball on the low block.

The score went back and forth throughout the second half. Neither team went on a run. The defense
applied by each team was very tight.

Shawn Fitzgibbons for Select took the ball hard to the basket. He wasn't afraid to draw contact.

Select's Kebu Johson had a few nice moves to the basket. He has able to drive to the basket uncontested
and scored a few nice lay ups. If it was too congested inside the lane, Johnson settled for a jump shot
that he was able to hit on a regular basis.

Select went on a run and they were more confident in their shot as the game progressed.

With 3:45 left in regulation the score was Select 52 and Fury 44.

The game came down to the wire. Fury didn't give up. They kept on fighting to the end of the game. I
thought that both teams played hard and physical throughout the game.

The game came down to the wire. Select came away with the 57-50 victory over Fury.
