THE ERROL CARLSTROM PLAYAZ TOOK ON THE INFORMATION INVESTORS GROUP IN THE PRO CITY IN THE PLAY OFFS

The Errol Carlstrom Playaz took on the Information Investors in the quarterfinal game of the June Miller Summer Pro Am.

The Information Investors were able to get out to an early 11-4 lead to begin the game. The Errol Carlstrom Playaz weren’t able to make a shot. They just came out cold. I think that they had to wait around because of the finish of the game beforehand kind of played a role in the slow start for the team.

Blake Hoffarber came out on fire. He was able to knock down three point shots with ease early in the contest. He has been known for his knack for shooting. No one on the other team could contain him from the outside of the three point line.

Both teams looked to push the ball up the court and they did a good job of scoring in transition.

The game was quite close throughout the first quarter.

Both teams were scoring at a rapid pace in the end of the first quarter. They were making their shots but they were not using the shot clock.

At the end of the first quarter the score was Information Investors Group 26 and Errol Carlstrom Playaz 23.

Both teams played man-to-man in the game. Not many teams play zone defense in this league.

The Errol Carlstrom Playaz looked for Blake Hoffarber to shoot the ball. Hoffarber was stationed on the three point line where we is the most comfortable shooting.

Pete Crawford for the Information Investors Group got off to a good to a good start. He caught fire on the offensive end.

At halftime the score was Errol Carlsrom Playaz 49 and the Information Investors Group 56.

The third quarter got off to an aggressive start. Neither team wanted to go home. The fast pace of the game meant a lot of subbing by both teams. I thought that was a good idea for both teams to do a lot of substituting because they were able to keep their teammates fresh. No doubt that each team was going to get tired throughout the course of the game but they did it at a much slower rate.

The Information Investors Group went on a run midway through the third quarter. They just were able to make shots and the Errol Carlsrom Playaz seemed a step slow. The game was tied at 72 with 1:35 left to go in the third quarter.

The score after three quarters was Errol Carlstrom Playaz 77 and was Information Investors Group 74.

Both teams came out swinging in the fourth quarter. Neither team gave up on going after loose balls. As the intensity picked up so did the scoring. Neither team went on a run in the fourth quarter.

Blake Hoffbarber really lit it up. Blake could hit shots from all over the place in the game. He did really well on the offensive end.

As the game came down to the wire in an all out battle the game was tied at 98 with 52.5 left to go in the contest.

Trerell Sedge for the Information Investors buried a three point shot with 18 seconds left in the contest.

In the end the Errol Carlstrom Playaz came away with the 105-101 hard fought victory over the Information Investors.
