CONCORDIA ACADEMY HOSTS BOYS’ BASKETBALL JAMBOREE

ST. AGNES VS RICHFIELD


Concordia Academy in Roseville hosted a boys’ basketball jamboree. Each team played two 15:00 half running time periods.


The first game was between St. Agnes and Richfield. St. Agnes came out in a zone defense. Richfield was able to push the ball down the court with ease.


Richfield opened on a run. They were able to shut St. Agnes down. Wibi MacDonald from Richfield did a good job of defending his guy.


St Agnes could not make shots in the first half. Richfield looked much quicker than St. Agnes.


At halftime the score was Richfield 31 and St. Agnes 6.


Richfield continued to push the ball up the court.


Shawn Ray Bear the guard for Richfield knew where his players were on the court. He and Wibi MacDonald were able to get their teammates involved in the plays. They each were able to set up teammates in the offense.


St. Agnes came out of the half on fire. With 8:00 left to go in the second half the score was Richfield 35 and St. Agnes 16.


Richfield went to a zone defense midway through the second half. St. Agnes was not able to get a good shot off.


Richfield came away with the 45-23 victory over St. Agnes.


MINNEHAHA VS TARTAN


In the second game Minnehaha Academy took on Tartan. Minnehaha started in a zone defense. They were able to extend on the defensive end. Minnehaha did a good job of closing out their players on the defensive end.


Both teams were able to make their shots in the first half.


Tartan looked as if they knew what they were doing on the offensive end. They were able to run the plays like they wanted to and make their shots.


At halftime the score was Minnehaha Academy 15 Tartan 24.


Tartan continued to push the ball down the court. They were able to make shots. Minnehaha had trouble making theirs.


Tartan looked good throughout the scrimmage.


Tartan came away with the 50-27 victory over Minnehaha Academy.


ST ANTHONY TOOK ON SIMLEY


St Anthony took on Simley in the next contest. St Anthony came out in a man-to-man defense. Simley started out in a zone defense.


Both teams traded baskets during the first half. Neither team was able to go on a run in the first half.


Simley played zone throughout the first half.


Both teams did a good job of scoring baskets in the first half. The defense was very good by both teams.


At halftime the score was Simley 18 and St Anthony 15.


St Anthony looked well on the defensive end. They were able to slow down Simley. St Anthony made it difficult for Simley to make plays.


The score was close throughout the contest. Both teams traded baskets for a good portion of the second half.


Simley didn’t give up. They kept on battling throughout the contest. In the end St Anthony came away with the 36-29 victory over Simley.


HILL MURRAY TOOK ON ST CROIX LUTHERAN


Hill Murray took on St Croix Lutheran. Hill Murray started the game out in a zone defense. They also looked to get the ball out of the basket and run with it. St Croix Lutheran was able to run with it.


The contest was close in the beginning. Neither team went on a run. The scoring went back and forth.


St Croix Lutheran had a 21-18 lead at halftime.


Both teams had a hard time finding the basket. Neither team was able to make shots that they were putting up.


The game was close throughout. In the end Hill Murray came away with the 34-33 victory over St Croix Lutheran.


STILLWATER TOOK ON CONCORDIA ACADEMY IN FINAL CONTEST


In the final contest of the jamboree Stillwater took on Concordia Academy. Concordia looked to push the ball early in the contest.


Stillwater started the game in a zone defense. They did a good job of slowing down Concordia Academy’s players on defense.


Stillwater pushed the ball in transition. They wanted to get the ball out of the basket quickly and go down to the other end of the court and looked to get into their offense.


At halftime the score was Stillwater 15 and Concordia Academy 13.


Concordia Academy came out in a zone defense. They were able to shut down Stillwater early. Concordia Academy still looked to push the ball in transition.


Stillwater strung some shots together midway through the second half. Concordia was caught off guard by this. They were not able to counter.


After a drought in scoring Concordia put together a nice run, they took a 1 point lead at 28-27 with 8:30 left to ho in the contest.


Both teams battled throughout the second half. They were evenly matched. The score switched back and forth for a good portion of the time.


In a game that went back and forth throughout Concordia Academy came away with the 44-37 victory over Stillwater.
