THE WASHINGTON WARRIORS TOOK ON THE CHASKA HAWKS IN THE 2011 MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES SHOOTOUT

The Washington Warriors out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa took on the Chaska Hawks in the third
game of the 2011 Minnesota Timberwolves Shootout.

Washington came into the game with a record of 5-2. Chaska came into the game with a record
of 7-2.

Both teams took a while to figure each other out. Neither team shot the ball well to begin the
game.

Washington started the game out in a zone defense. They looked to spread Chaska out.

Chaska looked to push the ball down the court and score easy baskets in transition. After each
basket that the Washington Warriors scored Chaska did a good job of getting the ball out of the
basket and pushing the ball down the court.

The Washington Warriors did a good job of making their shots. On the defensive end they were
able to slow down Chaska. Chaska didn’t get frustrated. They kept on shooting the ball even
though they were not making their shots in the first half.

Josh Oglesby for Washington stepped up and was able to knock down some shots from all over
the court. Oglesby was not afraid to take the ball hard to the basket if the lane was open.

Wesley Washpun for Washington also took the ball hard to the basket. He was able to get fouled
and made his free throw attempts.

At halftime the score was Washington Wizards 35 and Chaska 20.

As the second half got underway Chaska came out on fire. They were able to hit most of their
shots that they put up.

The Washington Wizards were able to hit their shots. They didn’t back down from Chaska.
Chaska kept shooting the ball. They looked to get the ball into Ross Travis’s hands. Travis got
hot late in the half.

Chaska cut the deficit to 41-45 with 10:00 left to go in regulation.

The game was close throughout the latter part of the contest. The defense pressure both teams
played prevented either of them from shooting many baskets late in the contest.

Washpun continued to shoot the ball well. He kept his team in the game.

Jake White kept Chaska in the game as he stepped up and knock down big shots late in the
contest.

I thought that both teams played well. Neither team gave up.
