MINNESOTA COMETS TOOK ON MINNESOTA SOUTHSIDE IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL CONTEST

In a 17U boys' basketball game Minnesota Comets took on Minnesota Southside. Both teams started out shooting the ball well as the score went back and forth early on.

Southside looked to get the ball inside to Latrell Diquan Love. Love was able to get the ball on the low block and post up and get the ball to the basket.

Southside went on a run early in the contest. They had a 13-5 lead with 9:29 left in the first half.

Comets couldn't find their shot for a period of time in the first half. They didn't get frustrated. They kept on taking shots even though they were not making them.

Both teams dove on the floor for loose balls. They also went hard after rebounds on both ends of the court.

The Comets went on a run late in the half.

As the second half got underway Minnesota Comets got to within two points of Southside. Comets looked to force Southside to take bad shots.

Love looked frustrated by the Comets’ tough defense. Every time Love got the ball, three or four players would swarm around him and that made him give the ball up quickly.

Southside played mostly man-to-man defense. They looked to pressure the whenever they could. Comets didn't back down. They continued to put up shots.

Southside was able to come away with the 66-55 victory over the Comets.
