STILLWATER TOOK ON FOREST LAKE IN THE CLASS AAA BOYS' STATE BASEBALL QUARTERFINAL GAME

Stillwater took on Forest Lake in a class AAA state baseball quarterfinal game. Stillwater came into the game with a record of 19-5 and Forest Lake came into the game with a record of 20-6.

TOP OF THE FIRST INNING

Stillwater's Pad Gethchell led off the game with a single

Pad Getchell stole second base.

Derek Albertson hit a bouncer to the shortstop who threw him out at first. Pad Getchell advanced to third base.

Tom Forster flew out to center field scoring Pad Getchell.

Joe Zorn flew out to the center fielder for the final out of the inning.

BOTTOM OF THE FIRST INNING

Trent Rabel got a single as he got a nice hit to center field.

Beau Fandel hit the ball to center field for a single.

Forest Lake left two guys on base without scoring a run.

TOP OF THE SECOND INNING

Will Anderson got a base hit as he hit a grounder to center field.

Christian Abila hit a single to the short stop who threw Will Anderson out at second.

Austin Holmberg hit a bunt and was forced out at first base but advanced the runner to second.

Austin Booher bounced out to first for the third out of the inning.

BOTTOM OF THE SECOND INNING

Ben Norling struck out

Cody Valley reached first base on a walk.

Jack Scmidt was safe on a hopper to third base. Cody Valley was thrown out at second base.

Andrew Miron struck out to end the inning.

TOP OF THE THIRD INNING

Alex Huth hit a bouncer to the shortstop who received an error and he got to first base.

Pad Getchell hit a bouncer to left field for a single.

Darek Albertson got a single and run scored and advanced the runner to third base.

Tom Forster flew out to the third baseman.

Joe Zorn flew out to the rightfielder but Pad Getchell scored on the play.

Will Anderson got a double and a runner scored.

Christan Abila hit a bouncer to left field. And Will Anderson scored from second base.

Austin Holmberg was thrown out at first.

TOP OF FOURTH

Alex Huth laid down a bunt and the pitcher fumbled the ball off the head of the batter so he reached second base. Then there was an error on the catcher to have him advance to third base.

Tom Forster drilled a ball to left field scoring Alex Huth.

Darek Albertson walked. That advanced the runner.

Tom Forster walked to load the bases.

Joe Zorn struck out for the second out of the inning.

Will Anderson popped out to center field for the final out of the inning. They stranded three players on the bases.

TOP OF THE FIFTH

Austin Holmberg hit a single down the middle of the field.

Troy Nettleton walked.

Pad Getchell got a single and a runner scored.

Darek Albertson laid down a bunt and was called out in a close play at first base.

BOTTOM OF THE SIXTH INNING

Matt Schmidt walked.

Dylan Dressel got a single, moving Matt Schmidt to second base.

Trent Rabel was called out on strikes.
Beau Fandel grounded out in a double play to end the inning.

TOP OF THE SEVENTH INNING

Christian Abila bounced a liner down the left field line for a double.

Austin Holmberg got a triple and Christian Abila scored.

Austin Booher struck out.

Alex Huth walked.

Pad Gethchell got a single and a run came in.

Darek Albertson was thrown out a first but advanced the runners.

Kevin Papke was thrown out at first base.

In a well played game by both teams Stillwater was able to come away with the 9-0 victory over Forest Lake.

The attendance at the quarterfinal games what took place at Midway Stadium was 2,588 for all four games. That averages out to be 647 per game.
