MINNESOTA MAGIC ELITE TOOK ON ECI IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

The Minnesota Magic Elite went up against ECI in a boys' basketball contest. Magic started the game out on fire as they opened up with a quick 9-3 lead with 13:30 left in regulation.

Magic looked to get the ball into the hands of there point guard Darrion Strong. Strong was listed at 6'0” and was able to run his teams offense.

ECI started the game in a zone defense. They wanted to spread Magic out and force them to take bad shots.

Magic started defending as soon as ECI got to the midway line of the court. Neither team played a full court man-to-man defense to start the game off.

ECI took a timeout with 10:49 left in the first half. The score was Magic 19 and ECI 7.

ECI seamed to calm down as they started off the game in a panic. After the timeout I think that their coach lit a fire under them because they came out of that time out playing with a lot more effort and energy.

Strong had good court awareness. He knew where his teammates were on the court and was able to feed them the ball in spots where they knew that they could make it.

ECI stuck with there zone defense throughout the first half. ECI was able slow down the Magic on defense making it harder for them to make shots by applying tough defense.

The score got close late in the first half as each team traded baskets for a portion late in the contest.

At halftime the score was Magic 36 and ECI 28.

As the second half got underway Reginald Joseph Lynch for Magic was a force to be reckoned with. On the offensive end he played on the low block and called for the ball. He would drive to the lane and looked to make lay-ups. On the defensive end he was able to slow down his guy that he was guarding and come up with a few steals. Lynch always knew where both his man and the ball were at.

ECI made a run at Magic to begin the second half. The score was 13:30 left in regulation was Magic 39 and ECI 34.

Each team played with a lot of passion and emotion. Neither team gave up easy shots and they both worked hard for their teams.

Select did a good job of spreading the floor out on the offensive end. They were able to set a lot of picks and get their teammates open to take good shots from within inside of the three-point line.

ECI kept the pressure on the Magic. ECI didn't give up any easy baskets and neither did Magic. The game was tight the last 10 minutes of the contest.

Strong continually found ways to get to the basket and get easy lay-ups. He was very quick on his feet so that made it hard for him to be guarded.

The score got out of hand late in the game. I thought that Magic Elite was too quick and strong for ECI. Elite was too much for ECI to handle. In a hard fought game

Minnesota Magic Elite came away with the 71-57 victory over ECI.
