ACADEMY OF HOLY ANGELS WENT UP AGAINST MARSHALL IN THE CLASS 3A STATE QUARTERFINALS IN GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

On March 15, Academy of Holy Angels and Marshall squared off in the girls’ basketball state quarterfinals. The game was played at the Target Center.

Marshall looked to take a lot of time off the clock by swinging the ball around the 3-point line. They did a good job of talking to each other and letting them know where they were supposed to be on the floor.

Holy Angels also took a lot of time off the clock by swinging the ball around the 3-point line. Holy Angels also got hot from behind the 3-point line. They were able to get everyone the ball. Holy Angles Megan Meyer also stepped up and knocked down mid-range jump shots and layups.

After a slow start Holy Angels was able to come up with layups and mid-range jump shots. They were able to slow down the Marshall offense.

At halftime the score was Holy Angels 35, Marshall 27.

As the second half got underway Holy Angels continued to push the ball down the floor and come up with mid-range jump shots.

The defensive pressure that Holy Angels applied made it difficult for Marshall to come up with shots.

Marshall had a difficult time scoring in the second half. Holy Angels got hot in the second half.

Holy Angels came away with the 69-47 victory over Marshall.
