ST. CROIX LUTHERAN WENT UP AGAINST BRAHAM IN THE CLASS AA STATE BOYS’ BASKETBALL SEMIFINALS

On March 11, St. Croix Lutheran and Braham squared off in the Class 2A state boys’ basketball semifinals at the Target Center.

St. Croix Lutheran pushed the ball down the floor and was able to score baskets in transition. 

The score went back and forth early in the contest.

There was a media timeout with 14:37 left in the first half. The score was Braham 9, St. Croix Lutheran 6.

There were several ties and lead changes in the first half. 

St. Croix Lutheran was able to get everyone involved in the offense. 

There was a media timeout with 10:44 left in the first half. The score was St. Croix Lutheran16, Braham 14.

Both teams got hot from behind the 3-point line. As they were able to get everyone involved in the offense. 

St. Croix Lutheran switched up between man-to-man and zone defense throughout the first half. That made Brahma keep guessing what they were running.

There was a media timeout with 3:35 left in the first half. The score was Braham 29, St. Croix Lutheran 27. 

Both teams continued to push the ball down the floor and make shots in transition late in the first half.

At halftime the score was Braham 39, St. Croix Lutheran 33.

As the second half got underway both teams continued to push the ball down the floor and come up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

There was a media timeout with 14:07 left in the first half. The score was St. Croix Lutheran 44, Braham 43.

The score continued to go back and forth in the second half. It was a very competitive half. Neither team gave up an easy shot.

There was a media timeout with 10:45 left in regulation. The score was Braham 58, St. Croix Lutheran 50.

Braham’s John Larson and Chris Olson came up with huge baskets in the second half, also teammate Ryan Larson stepped up and was able to knock down some big shots.

St. Croix Lutheran continued to struggle to shoot the ball in the second half. Even though they struggled they didn’t give up.

Braham came away with the 86-77 victory over St. Croix Lutheran.
