AUGSBURG WENT UP AGAINST HAMLINE IN A MEN’S BASKETBALL GAME

On Feb. 12, Augsburg went up against Hamline in a men’s basketball game. Both teams raced up and down the floor. 

It took a while for each team to get into an offensive shooting rhythm.

The score went back and forth throughout the first half.

Hamline called a timeout with 16:06 left in the first half. The score was Augsburg 15, Hamline 6. 

Hamline struggled to shoot the ball in the first half.

Hamline called another timeout with 14:28 left in the first half. The score was Augsburg 22, Hamline 6. 

Hamline struggled shooting the ball throughout the first half. Even though they struggled shooting the ball in the first half they kept on coming up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

Hamline used a zone defense in the first half. They were able to get past the Augsburg defense and get to the basket. 

Hamline’s Max Gerstner came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. He was able to get to the basket and make shots.

Hamline did a good job of moving the ball down the floor and getting everyone involved in the offense. 

Augsburg continued to come up with shots throughout the first half. They didn’t give up easy shots.

At halftime, the score was Augsburg 48, Hamline 35. 

As the second half got underway Augsburg looked to get the ball into the hands of Booker Coplin. Coplin came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the second half. 

Augsburg used a zone defense that made Hamline pass the ball around the 3-point line. 

Augsburg called a timeout with 16:01 left in regulation. The score was Augsburg 52 Hamline 43.

Hamline continued to attack the basket and come up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the second half. 

Hamline continued to put up shots in the second half. Even though they struggled shooting the ball in the second half, they kept on shooting the ball.

Hamline came up with shots late in the second half. 

Augsburg called a timeout with 7:49 left in regulation. The score was Augsburg 72, Hamline 63.

Both teams continued to battle throughout the second half. 

Hamline called a timeout with 6:08 left in regulation. The score was Augsburg 76, Hamline 67.

Augsburg took their time on the offensive end by swinging the ball around the 3-point line and getting everyone involved in the offense. 

Both teams played hard throughout the game. Neither team gave up uncontested shots. 

In a hard-fought game, Augsburg came away with the 91-78 victory over Hamline.

The leading scorers Augsburg were Booker Coplin with 37 points, Carter Duncan with 17 points, and Joe Palmer with 16 points. 

The leading scorers for Hamline were Michael Dillon with 23 points, and Luke Siwek with 16 points.
