LET THE 2008-09 BOYS BASKETBALL SEASON BEGIN

The 2008-09 Boys basketball season is about to get underway here at Cretin-Derham Hall High School. As the game gets underway fans are still filling in.

Eden Prairie has gotten out to a early 6-0 lead. They have been able to hit their shots in the early going. Cretin’s Elliot Owusu has entered the game and is one of their guards who has been able to move the ball up court. Eden Prairie has gone to a 2-3 zone defense.

Both teams are really getting after it and Eden Prairie has come out on fire. With 12:36 left to go in the first half the score is Eden Prairie 13 and Cretin 2.

Cretin’s Seantrel Henderson who is one of the top recruits in the state and who has attracted a lot of national attention is playing very well. He has really made some nice moves from the low block.

Eden Prairie is playing good help side defense and they are also playing well on offense.

Cretin has been able to make their shots in runs and in basketball it is about a game of runs. Either team can go on a run at any point in time. Both teams have to be ready to either go on a run or try to prevent one.

Clay Horne for Cretin is playing well. He has led the Raiders back into the game.

At the half the score is Eden Prairie 29, Cretin-Derham Hall 23.

The second half is underway both teams have come out playing up tempo and playing very hard.

Clay Home is again doing some amazing things around the basket. He has been able to use a nice jump shot effectively seems to have the fundamentals of the game down.

Eden Prairie has played well tonight. They have fought through tough screens that the Raider’s have set. They have been able to pull away late in the game.

Eden Prairie was able to come away with a 73-59 victory on good all around performance tonight by everyone on the team.
