NORTHWESTERN EAGLES LOOKS TO STAY UNDEFEATED AS THEY TAKE ON A PESKY HAMLINE PIPERS TEAM AT THE ERICKSEN CENTER

We are about to get this game underway. Hamline has put the pressure on early, as they are looking to trap the ball and press here.

Northwestern has started the game out in a zone defense. They are doing a lot of talking away from the ball. Northwestern looks to push the ball, in the early goings. Northwestern has continued to play mostly zone defense. Hamline has used both man and zone in the early going.

Dan Anderson has played well. Dan has just striped his defender at mid court and he has just made a nice lay-up. Dan is playing good help-side defense. Dan has just made a deep three pointer, and it looks like he has turned an ankle. He limps up the court now but is still playing hard. He is walking off the court without help.

Both teams are tied at 11 here, with 11:00 left to go in the first half. Both teams are playing well. This is a fast pace game so far. Both of these teams want to get the ball out of the basket and run, as quick as possible. Both of these teams are doing a good job of doing just that. Stephen Hanson for Northwestern has just come down and hit a deep three point shot that has given the Eagles a 16-15 lead. Now, there is 9:30 left to go in the first quarter.

Dan Anderson has just checked back into this game. He doesn't seem to be bothered by the ankle. I think that he just probably landed on it wrong and the pain will go away. He is a tough kid.

Northwestern has put on a little run, in this half. They have just made a few buckets in a row, while Hamline has not been able to get one to drop.

John Duren has just come down and hit a nice three point shot at the top of the key for Northwestern. He has had a nice game thus far tonight.

With 4:36 left to go in the half, the score is Northwestern 23 and Hamline 22.

Hamline continues to play a little zone, in this tight ball game. Neither team is going to lay down now. Both teams are really going at it.

We have reached the half way point in this game. At half time, the score is Northwestern 31 and Hamline 25. Hamline's scoring leader is Dan Anderson, with a total of 8 points at the break. The leading scorer for Northwestern is Stephen Hanson with 9 points.

As this second half begins, both teams came out aggressive. Hamline has some hard work to do to get back into it. But like any game, any team can go on a run. Northwestern has shot the ball better tonight. Although, there's still a long way to go in this game.

Northwestern has decided not to press to get this second half underway. Hamline still looks to push the ball in the start of this half. Northwestern has really come out and took it to Hamline in the second half. Hamline is still looks strong but Northwestern is really cooking.

Both teams are continuing to do battle. Eric Clute has just come up and hit a big jump shot for Hamline. Hamlin will try to shoot their way back into this game. They are going to have to pace themselves, but they will also have to show a bit of urgency in doing it, as the clock winds down. With 12:00 left to go in regulation, the score is Northwestern 47 and Hamlin 37. They are both playing well in this game.
Hamline is still playing very hard man-to-man defense here. They are still tuned into this game mentally. They are fighters, and they are not backing down. Stephen Hanson has just come down and got a monster, behind-the-head, two-handed slam dunk. Then on the next play he comes down and nails a 3 point shot. Stephen Hanson has just been on fire here in the last 2:00 of play. He has really come around and had a couple of nice shots.

As this game comes to an end, Northwestern came away with the victory this evening to remain undefeated for the season. Both teams played extremely well this evening.
