ST. BERNARD TOOK ON THE ROSEVILLE RAIDERS IN BOYS’ BASKETBALL

In the first game of the Catholic Spirit boys’ basketball holiday tournament Roseville took on St Bernard high school.

Each of these teams started out hot as they were able to hit shots that they were putting up. Both teams looked to push the ball up the court early in the game.

St Bernard looked to get the ball to Rickey Suggs. Suggs wanted the ball in his hands. He was able to make plays and knock down some shots in the first half.

The score went back and forth in the first half. Neither team was able to go on a run. Both teams played tough defense. Neither team gave up.

At half time the score was Roseville 35 and St. Bernard 26.

As the second half got underway both teams stepped up the intensity. They were really getting after it.

Roseville looked to push the ball up the court as they tried to score in transition. They were able to go on a run in the beginning of the second half.

St Bernard didn’t let up. They kept on playing hard. It was just that they went flat for a period in the second half.

For Roseville, Emeche Wells played really hard. He went after loose balls and he was able to knock down shots throughout the game. David Stanley did a good job of running the Roseville offense. He knew the plays that he wanted to run. He kept his team in the game.

Roseville went on another run in the second half and St Bernard was not able to stop them.

Roseville was able to come away with the 80-54 victory over St Bernard.
