BELGRADE-BROOTEN-ELROSA TOOK ON APPLE VALLEY IN A BOYS BASKETBALL GAME

Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (BBE) went up against Apple Valley in a boys’ basketball game. Apple Valley looked to get the ball into the hands of Tyus Robert Jones. He looked to create his own shot. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he make good shots.
 
BBE looked to get the ball into the hands of guard Brian Goodwin. Goodwin was also not afraid to take the ball hard to the basket. BBE looked to run the floor and score baskets in transition.
 
Neither team went on a run in the early goings of the game.
 
Apple Valley was deliberate on offense they knew where they wanted the ball to go. They ran set plays. Jordan Bolton did a good job of running the Apple Valley offense.
 
Apple Valley wholesale subbed in the first half. Head coach Zach Goring looked to keep everyone fresh early.
 
BBE called a timeout with 11:28 left in the first half, the score was Apple Valley 17, BBE 9.  
 
The defensive pressure that Apple Valley applied full court pressure and wanted to create turnovers.
 
The pace was quick in the first half. Apple Valley used their quickness to their advantage as they were able to get fast breaks. BBE had a difficult time with the quick pace of the game. They looked to slow it down and didn’t want to run with Apple Valley.
 
Bolton was able to knock down some deep three-point shots.
 
BBE called a timeout with 5:08 left in the first half, the score was Apple Valley 33, BBE 14.
 
Tre Jones looked to his brother Tyus Robert Jones as they had good communication on the floor. Tre had good court awareness and was able to knock down some deep three-point shots late in the first half.
 
Brock Bertram caught the ball from Tyus Robert Jones on the low block and was able to make layups.
 
At halftime the score was Apple Valley 45, BBE 23.
 
BBE continued to shoot the ball poorly in the second half. Even though they were not making shots that didn’t discourage them from shooting.
 
BBE called a timeout with 15:53 left in regulation, the score was Apple Valley 50, BBE 27.
 
Tyus Robert Jones continued to shoot the ball well in the second half.
 
Apple Valley did a good job of playing tight man-to-man defense.
 
Apple Valley continued to pour in the baskets late in the second half. They were able to take Goodwin out of the game offensively.
 
Apple Valley kept the on attacking the basket late in the contest.
 
Apple Valley came away with the 83-47 victory over BBE.
 
The leading scorers for Apple Valley were Tyus Robert Jones with 22 points, Brock Bertram with 14 points, and Trent with 10 points.
 
The leading scorers for BBE were James Kuefler with 10 points, and Goodwin with 11 points.
 
After the game I was able to talk to Tyus Jones about the game. I was also able to talk to Apple Valley head coach Zach Goring about the game.
