EASTVIEW WENT UP AGAINST HOPKINS IN A GIRLS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Eastview and Hopkins went up against each other in a girls’ basketball game. The got off to a quick start as each team got off to quick scoring chances.

Hopkins guard TT Starks was all over the floor she was able to score baskets in transition.

Eastview pushed the ball down the floor and swung the ball around the 3-point line.

There were several ties and lead changes throughout the first half. Neither team went on a huge run in the first half.

Eastview’s Madison Guebert  was all over the floor. On the offensive end she was able to hit her shots.

The game was close throughout the first half.

At halftime the score was Hopkins 35, Eastview 31.

As the second half got underway Hopkins looked to keep feeding the ball to Starks. Starks was able to get past her defenders and come up with some layups.

The score went back and forth throughout the second half.

Eastview went to a zone defense they wanted to force Hopkins to take deep shots.

Eastview got hot late in the second half. They did a good job of slowing down the Hopkins offense.

Hopkins was able to string some layups together late in the game.

Hopkins got the ball into the hands of Nia Hollie, Ashley Bates and Starks all who were able to shoot the ball well and came up with huge baskets throughout the game.

The score went back and forth the last 4 minutes of the game.

The game was tied at 67 at the end of regulation.

In the overtime period both teams continued to push the ball down the floor as they looked to score baskets.

The defenses stepped up big as neither team gave the other an open look at the basket.

Eastview came away with the 75-70 victory over Hopkins.

The leading scorer for Eastview was Geubert with 35 points.

The leading scorer for Hopkins were Bates and Starks each with 18 points. Also Hollie had 17 points.
