Maple Grove squared off against Rogers in a boys’ basketball game. The score went back and forth early.

Maple Grove was able to swing the ball around the 3-point line and was able to get everyone involved in the offense.

Rogers struggled shooting the ball throughout the first half.

Rogers called a timeout with 6 minutes left in the first half. The score was Maple Grove 37, Rogers 22.

Maple Grove’s Mitchell Rekstad came up with mid-range jump shots in the first half. The defense had a hard time slowing him down on offense.

At halftime the score was Maple Grove 43, Rogers 36.

Maple Grove’s Reed Nikko came up with layups. The Maple Grove offense went through Nikko’s hands.

Rogers Cole Murray was able to hit layups and mid-range jump shots in the second half. He did a good job of calling for the ball and his teammates were able to get him the ball in the key where he could hit shots.

Maple Grove’s Mitchell Rekstad, Tywhon Pickford and Nikko all came up with huge jump shots throughout the game. They were all able to hit shots that they put up.

Rogers had a hard time hitting shots throughout the second half. No one could get into a shooting rhythm. Rogers turned the ball over on offense and Maple Grove was able to make layups off the turnovers.

Maple Grove's defense caused Rogers all kinds of problems. Rogers wasn’t able to make shots and they were not able to get rebounds. Maple Grove was quicker than Rogers.

Maple Grove came away with the 86-70 victory over Rogers.

Maple Grove was lead in scoring by Rekstad with 22 points.

Rogers was lead in scoring by Murray with 20 points.

After the game I was able to talk to
