ROCORI WENT UP AGAINST ROGERS IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 26, Rocori squared off against Rogers in a boys’ basketball game. Rocori looked to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.

Rocori started in a man-to-man defense. Rogers also started in a man-to-man defense.

Rocori struggled shooting the ball early. They had difficult time shooting the ball.

Rogers guard Allen Wilson came up with some deep 3-point shots. The defense had a difficult time slowing Wilson down on offense.

Rocori called a timeout with 11:25 left in the first half. The score was Rogers 19, Rocori 10.

Rogers Cole Murray came up with layups and mid-range jump shots throughout the first half. He did a good job of getting past his defender and getting to the basket. On the defensive end Murray came up with steals that turned into baskets on the offensive end.

Rocori was able to get everyone involved in the offense. They passed the ball around the 3-point line as they looked to spread the Rogers defense out.

Rogers called a timeout with 7:14 left in the first half. The score was Rogers 26, Rocori 18.

Rocori’s Austin Overman came up with mid-range jump shots in the first half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could get open looks at the basket.

Rocori’s Derek Thompson also came up with big shots throughout the game. He wasn’t afraid to drive to the basket and make layups.

At halftime the score was Rogers 42, Rocori 30.

As the second half got underway Rogers continued to get the ball into the hands of Wilson. He continued to make mid-range jump shots.

Rocori called a timeout with 15:55 left in regulation. The score was Rogers 49, Rocori 32.

Wilson looked to get his teammates involved in the second half. If he didn’t think that he had a good shot he passed it to his teammates for the assist.

Rocori couldn’t get their offense going in the second half. They had trouble shooting the ball throughout. Even though they struggled to shoot the ball they kept shooting it.

Rogers was too much for Rocori to handle. Rogers was quicker than Rocori and Rogers was able to get to the basket and make shots.

Rogers came up with the 81-62 victory over Rocori.

The leading scorers for Rocori were Thompson with 18 Overman with 14 points.

The leading scorers for Rogers were Wilson with 22 points and Murray with 15 points.
