BRAHAM TOOK ON PIPESTONE IN THE GIRLS CLASS AAA SEMIFINAL BASKETBALL CONTEST


The Braham Bommers took on the Pipestone Area Arrows in the semifinal game of the girls state high school league state tournament.

Braham looked to push the ball up the court and control the tempo of the game in the early goings. Braham looked to pick up full court press from the get go.

Both teams played very strong defense to begin the game. Neither team wanted to give up a shot. They both played very tough defense.

Pipestone’s Bailey Bouman came out and played really hard. She was all over the court and playing really aggressively. Her teammates got her the ball and she was able to find the basket and score from all over the court.

The defense was very intense on both ends of the court. Neither team went on a run in the first half of the game.

Pipestone looked really good in the first half. The score went back and forth in the first half.

Bailey Bouman for Pipestone played really well on the defensive end. She was able to really shut down her opponents.

At halftime the score was Pipestone 28 and Braham 25.

As the second half got underway, defense was the name of the game. Each team did a very good job of defending. This was a defensive battle throughout the game.

Braham was able to string some baskets together. Pipestone didn’t back down.

With 14:38 left in the game the score was Pipestone 32 and Braham 30.

Both teams continued to play very good defense. Neither team was able to go on a run. The tempo of the game was one of defense and grind, grind, grind.

Braham was able to come away with the 51-47 victory over Pipestone.

The leading scores for Pipestone were Bailey Bouman with 23 points and Bree Woelber with 9 points. For Braham they were led in scoring by Rebekah Dahlman who had 17 points. Kelsey Sorenson scored 13 points for Braham.

After the game I was able to talk to Braham’s head coach Tim Malone and players Kelsey Sorenson- Giffrow and Rebekah Dahlman about the semifinal victory.
