THE MINNEAPOLIS DELASALLE ISLANDERS AND THE MINNEAPOLIS PATRICK HENRY JUNIOR VARSITY TEAMS TOOK ON EACH OTHER IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL CONTEST

The Minneapolis DeLaSalle Islanders and the Minneapolis Patrick Henry junior varsity teams squared off against each other.

DeLaSalle started off playing strong man-to-man defense. They were all over the court. They wanted to try to get Henry off guard in the early goings.

Henry looked to run a fast break early on. They were always looking to push the ball up the court.

DeLaSalle was able to make shots in the first half with relative ease. Henry had difficulties making their shots in the first half.

In the first half Henry was over matched. DeLaSalle was more athletic and more skilled inside. They were able to knock down shots throughout the first half.

At half time the score was DeLaSalle 31 and Henry 16.

As the second half got underway both teams stepped up the defensive pressure. DeLaSalle is known for applying great pressure against their opponent.

Henry tried to spread the court out on their offensive. They wanted to try to extend DeLaSalle as much as they could. DeLaSalle was able to shoot through the gaps and create scoring chances.

Henry went on a run late in the second half. But they were not able to catch up to DeLaSalle.

DeLaSalle came away with the 63-47 victory over Henry in the junior varsity contest.
