LAKEVILLE SOUTH TOOK ON ROCHESTER JOHN MARSHALL IN A BOYS BASKETBALL GAME

Lakeville South and Rochester John Marshall in a boys basketball game. Marshall did a good job of looking to push the ball down the floor.
 
Marshall guard Deonte Moore was all over the floor on the offensive end early. He called out plays that he wanted run. Moore also did a good job of letting his teammates know where they were supposed to be on the floor at all times.
 
Marshall took a lot of time off the clock on the offensive end. They did a good job of swinging the ball around the three-point line. Lakeville South used multiple different defenses in the opening minutes of the game.
 
On the defensive end Moore was able to create turnovers and was able to convert the layup on the offensive end. He was very quick on his feet.
 
D’Angelo Tines stepped up and was able to hit shots within the three-point line for Marshall. He had good court awareness and knew where his teammates were on the floor at all times.
 
Lakeville South was able to score baskets in transition. They were able to get past the Marshall defenders and make contested shots.
 
Lakeville South strung baskets together late in the first half. They were able to make layups late in the first half.
 
At halftime the score was Lakeville South 41 Marshall 29.
 
Lakeville South’s Cody Kairis was all over the court on the offensive end. He made layups for his team in traffic. Kairis was not afraid to take the ball to the basket.
 
Marshall attacked the basket and Moore came up some nice baskets. His also brought the ball down the floor and was able to create his shot out of his offense. They did a good job of battling throughout the game. They didn’t give up on either end of the floor.
 
The game got physical late in the contest. Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls and went for rebounds on both ends of the floor. There was a lot of contact and the referees let the players play through it.
 
Marshall fought the whole game. They kept taking shots that they thought that they could make.
 
Lakeville South’s Jack Sorenson made some clutch shots midway through the second half for his team. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
Sorenson got hot from behind the three-point line as he toed the line and nailed back to back three-point shots.
 
Marshall’s defensive intensity picked up late in the half. They wanted to make it tough for Lakeville South to get a shot off.
 
Lakeville South came away with the 76-60 victory over Marshall.
 
The leading scorer for Lakeville South was Jack Sorenson with 17 points. The leading scorer for Marshall was Ngor Barnaba with 15 points.
