NEW YORK COSMOS WENT UP AGAINST MINNESOTA UNITED FC IN A SOCCER GAME

On Oct. 18 New York Cosmos went up against the Minnesota United FC in a soccer match at the National Sports Center in Blaine.

Both teams did a good job of getting the ball down the field. Comos looked for fast break chances to get the ball down the field get open looks at the goal.

Cosmos forward Jemal Johnson came up with some big shots on goal in the first half but Matt VanOekel came up with some nice saves.

Both teams did a good job of moving the ball down the field and talking to each other. Minnesota United’s Miguel Ibarra got the ball down the field quickly and took a shot on goal but Comos goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer came up with a save.

The ball continued to move quickly up and down the field as each team looked to score goals throughout the first half.

Minnesota’s Daniel Mendes had a nice shot on goal but it was unsuccessful as Maurer came up with another nice save.

The play got physical as both teams went after the ball.

At halftime the score was tied at 0.

As the second half got underway both teams continued to attack the goal.

Both teams worked hard to get the ball down the field throughout the second half. Neither team had the chance for open shots on goal.

Comos Carlos Mendes got ejected in the 86th minute as he received a red card.

The game went into overtime and no one scored. The game ended in a 0-0 tie.
