ROCHESTER JOHN MARSHALL WENT UP AGAINST WAYZATA IN A BOYS’ STATE SOCCER GAME

Rochester John Marshall squared off against Wayzata in the boys’ Minnesota State High School League class AA quarterfinals of the soccer tournament. 
 
From the start of the game Wayzata was all over the field. They were able to move the ball well as they used the whole field.

John Marshall did a good job of finding their man that they were guarding.

Wayzata also did a good job of knowing where the ball was at all times. Both teams seemed to be evenly matched early in the contest.  

Neither team gave up easy looks on goal. Both teams were evenly matched throughout the first half.

At halftime the score was tied at 0.

With 38:54 left in regulation Wayzata’s Arthur Parens found the back of the net for a goal. With that goal that made the score Wayzata 1, Rochester John Marshall 0.

Parens found the goal again with 35:48 left in the second half. With that goal that made the score

Wayzata 2, Rochester John Marshall 0.

John Marshall kept on attacking the net. Even that they were down two goals they didn’t give up on themselves.

Wayzata’s Clay Elmore scored a goal with 11:39 left in regulation.

With Elmore’s goal that made the score Wayzata 3, Rochester John Marshall 0.

Wayzata was a little quicker than Rochester John Marshall. Both teams played hard throughout the contest. In the end however Wayzata came away with the 3-0 victory over Rochester John Marshall.
