MINNEAPOLIS NORTH WENT UP AGAINST CALEDONIA IN THE CLASS 2A STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Minneapolis North and Caledonia squared off against each other in the Class 2A state football finals. North kicked off to Caledonia to start the game.

Caledonia couldn’t move the ball down the field on their first drive. They punted on 4th down.

Minneapolis North kept the ball on the ground as they looked to make first downs.

Caledonia called a timeout with 9:16 left in the first quarter. The score was tied at 0.

Caledonia’s Elijah King came up with an interception. They took over on their own 29-yard line. Caledonia went to the air and looked to move the ball down the field. Caledonia punted on 4th-and-6.

North took over on their own 19-yard line. North’s Zach Yeager came up with long runs that kept the ball out of the Caledonia’s hands. Yeager knew where his teammates were on the field.

North called a timeout with 4:10 left in the first quarter the score was tied at 0.

North punted on 4th-and-8. Caledonia took over on their own 30-yard line. Caledonia moved the ball down the field as they got the ball into the hands of Noah King. Noah King found Elijah King for a 42-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was not good.

With 1:56 left in the first quarter, the score was Caledonia 6, North 0.

North took over on their own 24-yard line. North’s Terrance Kamara kept on coming up with long runs for first downs.

After one quarter of play, the score was Caledonia 6, North 0.

North continued to get the ball into the hands of Kamara. North continued to move the ball down the field. The defensive pressure that Caledonia applied made it difficult for North to come up with long plays.

North called a timeout with 8:42 left in the second quarter. The score was Caledonia 6, North 0.

On 4th-and-31 North punted the ball and Elijah King came up with a 58-yard punt return. The extra point attempt was good.

With 7:42 left in the second quarter, the score was Caledonia 13, North 0.

North took over on their own 20-yard line. North continued to move the ball down the field and looked for Kamara for first downs.

North called a timeout with 4:30 left in the second quarter. The score was Caledonia 13, North 0.

North fumbled the ball and Caledonia recovered the ball on the North’s 35-yard line. Caledonia continued to move the ball down the field as they looked to get into the end zone. Cole Kronebusch came up with a 15-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was good.

With 3:00 left in the second quarter, the score was Caledonia 20, North 0.

North took over on their own 35-yard line. North looked through the air to come up with long plays late in the second quarter.

Caledonia called a timeout with 2:34 left in the second quarter. The score was Caledonia 20, North 0. 

Kamara found holes in the Caledonia defense as they moved the chains. North looked to get into the end zone late in the second quarter.

At halftime, the score was Caledonia 20, North 0.

Caledonia kicked off to start the third quarter. North started on the Caledonia 49-yard line. North kept the ball in the hands of Kamara. Zach Yeager kept on coming up with big plays as he looked to get away from the Caledonia defense. On 4th-and-5 North went for it and turned the ball over on downs.

Caledonia couldn’t move the ball down the field, and they punted on 4th-and-12. North took over on their own 16-yard line.

North punted on 4th-and-7. Caledonia took over on the North’s 37-yard line. Caledonia’s King came up with a 27-yard run that end. Elijah King came up with a 10-yard reception for a touchdown. The two-point attempt was not good.

With 6:04 left in the third quarter, the score was Caledonia 26, North 0.

North took over on their own 30-yard line. North couldn’t move the ball down the field and the Caledonia defense gave North problems all game. North punted on 4th-and-23.

Caledonia took over on their own 38-yard line. Caledonia couldn’t move the ball down the field, and they punted on 4th-and-long.

North took over on their own 2-yard line.

North called a timeout with 2:32 left in the third quarter. The score was Caledonia 26, North 0.

North kept the ball on the ground late in the quarter. Yeager came up with a 21-yard run for a first down.

After three quarters of play, the score was Caledonia 26, North 0.

North was picked off by Caledonia’s Elijah King. Caledonia took over on their own 44-yard line. Caledonia continued to move the ball down the field on the ground. Caledonia’s Kronebusch came up with another long run. Caledonia fumbled the ball and North took over.

North took over on their own 10-yard line. North kept the ball on the ground as they looked for first downs.

Both teams played hard and gave it their all. But in the end, Caledonia was too much for North to handle. Caledonia came away with the 26-0 victory over North.
