MINNESOTA STATE MOORHEAD WENT UP AGAINST CONCORDIA ST. PAUL IN A FOOTBALL GAME

It was homecoming on the campus of Concordia University-St. Paul on Oct. 12, Minnesota State Moorhead went up against Concordia St. Paul in a football game. The weather to start the game was cold and there were snow flurries. Going into the game Moorhead had a record of 3-2 and Concordia also had a record of 3-2.

Concordia kicked off to start the game. Moorhead took over on their own 35-yard line. Moorhead kept the ball on the ground on their first drive. Moorhead started Mathew Plasterer at quarterback. On 4th-and-15 Moorhead punted.

Concordia took over on their own 29-yard line. Maxon Hutton started at quarterback for Concordia. Hutton used his speed to get past the defenders for a first down. Concordia’s Maxon Hutton completed a 28-yard pass to Darios Crawley-Reid for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was good.

With 8:42 left in the first quarter, the score was Concordia 7, Moorhead 0.

Moorhead looked to move the ball down the field once again. The Concordia defense came up big as they were able to slow down the Moorhead offense. On 4th-and-14, Moorhead punted. They muffed the ball and Concordia took over on the 1-yard line.

Concordia took over on the 1yard line and Shaq Johnson came up with a 1-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good by Danny Laudet was good.

With 6:39 left in the first quarter, the score was Concordia 14, Moorhead 0.

The ball went into the end zone and Moorhead got the ball on their own 25-yard line. Moorhead fumbled the ball, but they recovered the ball.

Moorhead called a timeout with 5:47 left in the first quarter. The score was Concordia 14, Moorhead 0.

Moorhead punted the ball on 4th-and-19. Concordia took over on the Moorhead’s 46-yard line.

Concordia moved the ball down the field through both the run and passing attack. Hutton looked for his receivers down the field. Hutton was intercepted by Matt Schoh.

Moorhead started on its own 20-yard line. Moorhead tried to pass the ball down the field. Moorhead’s Ty Jochim came up with short running plays that kept the chains moving.

Moorhead called a timeout with 11 seconds left in the first quarter.

Moorhead punted on 4th-down.

After one quarter of play, the score was Concordia 14, Moorhead 0.

Concordia took over on their own 47-yard line. Concordia looked to the air but was not able to come up with a first down. Concordia punted on 4th-down. The punt was blocked.

Moorhead took over on the Concordia 33-yard line. Plasterer looked to get past the defense. Moorhead moved the ball down the field. Grady Bresnahan came up with a first down reception. Zach Sweep came up with a short run that set up a 4th-and-3 on the 4-yard line. They went for it. There were not able to come up with a first down and turned the ball over on downs.

Concordia took over on their own 4-yard line. Concordia moved the ball down the field. On 4th-and-7 Concordia punted the ball.

Moorhead took over on their own 35-yard line. Ryan Bieberdorf came up with a first down reception. Moorhead was intercepted.

Concordia took over on their own 34-yard line. Concordia couldn’t move the ball down the field, and they punted on 4th-and-4.

Moorhead took over on their own 25-yard line. Moorhead couldn’t move the ball down the field and punted the ball. Concordia fumbled the ball and Moorhead came away with the ball.

Moorhead took over on the Concordia 20-yard line. Moorhead looked to get into the end zone late in the quarter.

Moorhead called a timeout with 1:28 left in the second quarter. The score was Concordia 14, Moorhead 0.

Moorhead attempted a 26-yard field goal which was good.

With 41.2 seconds left in the second quarter, the score was Concordia 14, Moorhead 3.

Concordia took over on their own 20-yard line. They let the clock run out.

At halftime, the score was Concordia 14, Moorhead 3.

Moorhead kicked off to start the third quarter. Concordia looked to the air on the first drive of the quarter. They were not able to move the ball down the field early. On 4th-and-23 Concordia punted.

Jack Sweep fumbled the ball and Concordia came up with it and took over on the Moorhead 34-yard line.

Concordia’s Hutton got his teammates the ball where they could make plays. Olsgaard came up with long runs for a first down. The defensive pressure that Moorhead started out with made it difficult for Concordia to make plays early in the third quarter.

Concordia attempted a 48-yard field goal attempt which was no good.

Moorhead took over on their own 31-yard line. Moorhead moved the ball down the field through the air. Moorhead went for it on 4th-and-1. They were able to get a first down on a Matthew Plasterer short run. The defense stepped up and stopped the Moorhead offense. Moorhead punted on 4th-and-2.

Concordia took over on their own 13-yard line. Concordia’s Hutton was sacked and was getting flustered by the defensive pressure. Concordia punted on 4th-and-8.

Moorhead took over on the Concordia 45-yard line. Moorhead had trouble moving the ball and they had to punt the ball on 4th-and-30. The punt was fumbled.

Concordia took over on the Moorhead 20-yard line. Concordia looked to get into the end zone late in the quarter. Johnson came up with a first down run.

After three quarters of play, the score was Concordia 14, Moorhead 3.

Concordia attempted a 23-yard field goal attempt by Danny Laudet which was good.

With 14:17 left in the fourth quarter, the score was Concordia 17, Moorhead 3.

Moorhead tried to move the ball down the field but was not able to move the ball. On 4th-and-16
they punted the ball.

Concordia took over on the Moorhead 45-yard line. Johnson came up with a 24-yard run for a first down. On 4th-and-33 Concordia punted the ball.

Moorhead’s Carter Blackwell blocked the punt and came up with it. Moorhead took over on the Concordia 33-yard line. Moorhead looked to get into the end zone with under 9:00 left in the fourth quarter. Moorhead moved the ball down the field and got into the red zone.

Then the defense stepped up slowed down the Moorhead offense. On 4th-and-10 Moorhead went for it. Matthew Plasterer found Ryan Harvey-Turner for a 17-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was good.

With 7:24 left in the fourth quarter, the score was Concordia 17, Moorhead 10.

Concordia started their drive on the Moorhead 17-yard line. Concordia punted on 4th-and-4.

Moorhead took over on their own 22-yard line. Herman Gray found some running room and was able to get a first down. Moorhead punted the ball.

Concordia took over on the Moorhead 39-yard line.

Moorhead called a timeout with 3:10 left in the fourth quarter. The score was Concordia 17, Moorhead 10.

Concordia got the ball into the hands of Johnson’s hands who came up with a first down run.

Concordia called a timeout with 2:27 left in the fourth quarter. The score was Concordia 17, Moorhead 10.

Crawley-Reid came up with a 17-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.

With 2:20 left in the fourth quarter, the score was Concordia 24, Moorhead 10.

Moorhead took over deep in their own territory. Moorhead tried one last attempt to get into the end zone late in the quarter. Moorhead moved the ball down the field. Trent Marquet came up with a deep reception that put the ball on the 8-yard line. Plasterer came up with a 7-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.

With 14.5 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the score was Concordia 24, Moorhead 17.

Concordia ran out the clock.

Concordia came away with the 24-17 victory over Moorhead.
