THE BLAKE SCHOOL WENT UP AGAINST HOLY ANGELS IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

The Blake School and Holy Angels squared off in a boys’ basketball game at Holy Angels. Both teams raced up and down the floor was they looked to score baskets in transition early.

Blake’s Gabe Ganz came up with mid-range jump shots and layups early. Blake took a lot of time off the clock as they passed the ball around the 3-point line. Teammate Jasper Liu came up with steals on the defensive end and turned them into baskets on the offensive
 end.

Holy Angels got into a scoring drought midway through the first half. Even though they had a tough time shooting the ball early they kept on shooting the ball.

Holy Angels called a timeout with 11:34 left in the first half. The score was Blake 9, Holy Angels 6.

Blake took a lot of time off the clock as passed the ball around the three-point line Blake looked to get the ball into the hands of Robert Lee Grace IV. Grace got to the basket and looked to make mid-range jump shots and layups.

Neither team went on a huge run in the first half.

Blake got everyone involved in the offense. They passed the ball around the three-point line and looked for their shots.

Both teams also took a lot of time off the clock throughout the first half.

Grace continued to look for his shots late in the first half. He was able to get good looks at the basket.

Holy Angels dove on the ground after loose balls as they went after balls on both ends of the floor.

Grace wasn’t afraid to shoot the ball in traffic. If Grace didn’t think that he had a good shot, he would pass it to one of his teammates for the open shot.

Holy Angels look to score baskets in transition. They were able to get their offense going late in the first half.

At halftime, the score was Blake 31, Holy Angels 22.

Blake’s David Bix and Gabe Ganz both came out and kept on shooting the ball and made mid-range jump shots and layups.

Holy Angles Matt Banovetz and Terrence Roberts both made shots in transition. Their teammates did a good job of knowing where they were on the offensive end were able to get their teammates involved in the offense.

Liu got hot midway through the second half. He was able to make mid-range jump shots and layups.

Blake called a timeout with 14:14 left in regulation. The score was Blake 41, Holy Angels 34.

Blake continued to look to make baskets in transition. They moved the ball down the floor well and was able to get to the basket.

Ganz kept on coming up with mid-range jump shots and layups late in the game.

Blake took a lot of time off the clock late in the game. On the defensive end the defensive pressure that Blake applied made it difficult for Holy Angels to get open looks at the basket.

Holy Angels called a timeout with 9:441 left in regulation. The score was Blake 50, Holy Angels 40.

Holy Angels looked to make shots in transition late in the game. Holy Angels Matt Banovetz came up with big plays in the second half.

Holy Angels kept attacking the basket late in the game. They kept on looking to get the ball into the hands of Matt Banovetz.

Holy Angels called a timeout with 5:14 left in regulation. The score was Blake 64, Holy Angels 55.

Blake passed the ball around the three-point line late in regulation.

Both teams played hard throughout the game.

Holy Angels called a timeout with 2:45 left in regulation. The score was Blake 72, Holy Angels 59.

Holy Angles couldn’t make their shots late in the game.

Blake played well; Holy Angels couldn’t make their shots down the stretch. 

Blake came away with the 78-63 victory over Holy Angels.

The leading scorers for Blake care Liu with 19 points. Ganz with 15 points and Grace with 14 points.

The leading scorers for Holy Angels were Matt Banovetz with 21 and Emmett Johnson with 16 points.
