EDEN PRAIRIE COMES OUT QUICK AND BEATS MOUNDS VIEW IN THE CLASS AAAAA BOYS FOOTBALL SEMI FINAL

In one of the most anticipated semifinal games Mounds View took on Eden Prairie. There was a lot of talk leading up to this game.

At 10:24 Gage Shaeffer for Eden Prairie made a nice reception for a catch for the first touchdown of the game. The extra point was good.

With 5:50 left to go in the Gage Shaeffer found the end zone again as he scored his second touchdown of the game. The extra point was good.

After the end of the first quarter the score was Eden Prairie 14 and Mounds View 0.

Neither team was able to score in the second quarter. At the half the score was Eden Prairie 14 and Mounds View 0.

Both teams knew that it would be a close game throughout and that is what it was. Mounds View stepped up on the defensive end they were able to come up big and stop Eden Prairie.

At the end of the third quarter the score was Eden Prairie 14 Mounds View 0.

With 11:11left in the game David Planter made a field goal for Eden Prairie. With that field goal the score was Eden Prairie 17 and Mounds View 0.

Eden Prairie would come away with the 17-0 victory. I was able to talk to Eden Prairie’s head coach Mike Grant and Gage Shaeffer about the game.

That win that puts Eden Prairie into the Minnesota State High School League class AAAAA championship game against Cretin-Derham Hall.
