IN THE GIRLS SOCCER CLASS AA FINAL IT WAS WAYZATA AGAINST WOODBURY

In the girls Class AA championship game it was Wayzata against Woodbury. Both of these teams came out with a lot of emotion and enthusiasm.

Neither of these teams was able to get a lot of shots on goal at the beginning of the game. Both teams did a good job scrambling around and getting the ball.

Both of the goalkeepers did a fine job keeping the ball out of the goal. Each team played with a lot of intensity in the first half.

Neither team was able to score during the first half.

As the second half got underway both teams came out on fire. Erin Krause scored a goal for Wayzata and Samantha Curtiss was credited with the assist.

With that goal the score was Wayzata 1 and Woodbury 0.

With 22:23 left in regulation Woodbury Catlin Graboski scored a goal on a penalty kick. With that goal the score was tied at 1 a piece.

With 11:31 left in regulation Wayzata’s Taylor Wodnick scored a goal for Wayzata. With that goal the score was Wayzata 2 and Woodbury 1.

Wayzata was able to come away with the 2-1 victory and they are the 2009 Girls Class AA soccer state champions.
