MINNESOTA TRANSITIONS TOOK ON ROCHESTER MAYO IN THE MINNETONKA BOYS’ BASKETBALL FALL LEAGUE


Minnesota Transitions took on Rochester Mayo in the boys’ basketball fall league. Rodney Owens for MTS found his shot early in the contest. His teammates were able to give him the ball as he drove to the basket.


Rochester Mayo was a little quicker then Minnesota Transitions. Mayo was able to slow Minnesota Transitions down.


Minnesota Transitions played a zone defense in the first half. They wanted to slow Mayo down.


Mayo was able to score easy baskets in transition.


Minnesota Transitions went on a run late in the first half.


At halftime the score was Rochester Mayo 41 and Minnesota Transitions 38.


As the second half got underway both teams were very aggressive. Neither team wanted to give up any baskets.


Minnesota Transitions looked to score baskets in transitions early in the second half. Rochester Mayo had trouble making shots coming out of the halftime break.


Mayo went to a man-to-man defense midway through the second half. They were able to catch Minnesota Transitions off guard. Minnesota Transitions was able to find the baskets and their shots fell for them in the second half.


Rochester Mayo kept the pressure on Minnesota Transitions the whole game. The score went back and forth late in the second half. Neither team was able to go on a run in the second half.


The game was close throughout. Both teams played solid and neither team quit.


Minnesota Transitions got the lead late in the second half. They were able to use their quickness and get some steals that lead to fast break points in the second half. Rochester Mayo was able to counter the quickness of Minnesota Transitions.


The teams trading scoring baskets late in the game in the end Minnesota Transitions came away with the 77-71 victory over Rochester Mayo.
