WAYZATA TOOK ON BENILDE ST. MARGARET’S IN THE MINNETONKA BOY’S BASKETBALL FALL LEAGUE

Benilde St. Margaret’s took on Wayzata in the Minnetonka boys’ basketball fall league. Both teams looked to get up and down the court.


Both teams traded baskets early in the game. Wayzata was able to go on a run midway through the first half.


Benilde St. Margaret’s wanted to get the ball into Kyle Washington’s hands early on in the contest. Kyle was able to get the ball in the low post and fake his defender out and was able to score on a little pump fake to the basket. He had been successful in that move throughout the earlier games.


Wayzata couldn’t find their shots in the first half.


At halftime Wayzata had a 38-25 lead over Benilde St. Margaret’s.


As the second half got started Wayzata continued to score at will. They were able to come out on fire and drop a few shots. Benilde St. Margaret’s didn’t get frustrated at all. They kept on playing hard.


Benilde St. Margaret’s continued to push the ball up the court in the second half. Even though they were having trouble scoring at points in the game they never quit.


Wayzata was able to put a little bit of pressure on Benilde St. Margaret’s and that was able to frustrate them throughout the game.


Benilde St. Margaret’s used a man-to-man defense in the second half. They were able to slow down Wayzata midway through the second half.


Benilde St. Margaret’s was able to go on a run midway through the half. With 8:30 left to go in the game Wayzata had a 56-52 lead.


The game got close in the second half. Wayzata went into a funk and they were not able to score. Benilde St. Margaret’s was able to take advantage of that and they were able to get back into the game.


The score was tight late in the second half. Benilde St. Margaret’s was able to make a comeback on Wayzata. Wayzata didn’t fold but they had difficulty making their shots late in the game.


The game came down to the wire. In the end Wayzata was able to come away with the 79-74 victory over Benilde St. Margaret’s. I thought both teams played well throughout the game.
