ANOKA RAMSEY TOOK ON ROCHESTER IN THE MCAC MENS BASKETBALL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Anoka Ramsey and Rochester went up against each other in the Minnesota Community Athletic Conference mens basketball championship game.
 
The game got off to a quick start as the score went back and forth.
 
Rochester got up 20-12 with 12:24 left in the first half when Anoka Ramsey called a timeout.
 
Rochester’s Lavar McCullough and Keiron Sauer came up with mid-range jump shots in the first half.
 
Anoka Ramsey had a tough time hitting their shots in the first half.
 
Rochester did a good job of getting the ball down the floor. They were able to make shots in transition.
 
Rochester called a timeout with 8:38 left in the first half. The score was Rochester 24, Anoka Ramsey 21.
 
Anoka Ramsey’s Tent Pollard was all over the floor on the offensive end. He came up with layups.
 
The score continued to go back and forth late in the first half.
 
Rochester’s Jumarhi Turner came up with some deep three-point shots late in the first half.
 
At halftime the score was Rochester 40, Anoka Ramsey 37.
 
As the second half got underway Anoka Ramsey came out on fire.
 
Rochester called a timeout with 16:09 left in regulation. The score was Anoka Ramsey 52, Rochester 47.
 
The score went back and forth throughout the second half.
 
Rochester called a timeout with 10:03 left in regulation. The score was Anoka Ramsey 65, Rochester 61.
 
Pollard continued to come up with mid-range jump shots late in regulation.
 
The score continued to go back and forth late in regulation.
 
Rochester’s Chuck Robinson came up with some big mid-range jump shots in the second half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in the paint so where he was hot.
 
Rochester called a timeout with 2:57 left in regulation. The score was Anoka Ramsey 76, Rochester 75.
 
Anoka Ramsey looked to take time off the shot clock late in regulation.
 
The game was tied at 77 after regulation.
 
In the overtime period the score went back and forth. Rochester continued to look to get Robinson the ball. Robinson was able to hit his shots.
 
Pollard came up with mid-range jump shots in the overtime period.
 
Anoka Ramsey’s Lemuel Doe was fouled with 16.3 seconds left in the overtime period. He missed the first free throw and made the second one.
 
Anoka Ramsey came away with the 88-85 overtime victory over Rochester.
 
As a team Rochester shot 34-87 from the field that included going 6-20 from behind the three-point line. They were 11-19 from the free throw line. Rochester brought down a total of 53 rebounds 29 of them on the defensive end. They were lead in scoring by Robinson with 29 points, Gunn and McCullough each had 16 points.
 
As a team Anoka Ramsey shot 32-74 from the field that included going 7-22 from behind the three-point line. They were 17-24 from the free throw line. Anoka Ramsey brought down a total of 41 rebounds 29 of them on the on the defensive end. They were lead in scoring by Pollard with 28 points, Doe and Brama each finished with 14 points each and Loughlin with 13 points.
 
With that victory Anoka Ramsey advances to the NJCAA Division 3 National Tournament in New York.
