APPPLE VALLEY WENT UP AGAINST CHAMPLIN PARK IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Apple Valley and Champlin Park squared off in a boys’ basketball game. Apple Valley struggled to shoot to start the game. 

Champlin Park jumped out to a 24-9 lead with 10:15 left in the first half. 

Apple Valley’s Tre Jones was able tom step up and knock down deep 3-point shots. 

Champlin Park could score baskets in transition. The Apple Valley defense had a hard time slowing down the Champlin Park offense. 

Champlin Park’s McKinley Wright IV came up with mid-range jump shots and layups throughout the first half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it. 

Apple Valley took their time on the offensive end. They passed the ball around the 3-point line and could get everyone involved in the offense.

At halftime, the score Champlin Park 44 Apple Valley 36. 

As the second half got under way Champlin Park continued to push the ball down the floor and looked to make layups. 

Jones continued to make plays and make shots. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it. 

Champlin Park’s D.J. Hunter could put pressure on the guy he was guarding and could slow him down. Teammate Theo John was also able to come up with jump shots and slam dunks. 

Apple Valley couldn’t get the lead late in the game. 

Champlin Park came away with the 91-84 victory over Apple Valley.
