BROOKLYN CENTER AND MINNEAPOLIS NORTH SQUARED OFF IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Brooklyn Center and Minneapolis North squared off in a boys’ basketball game on Dec. 28, at North High School.
North started the game in a zone. North looked to trap the ball off the pass early. North swung the ball around the 3-point line as they looked to get everyone involved in the offense.
North’s JaQuan Sanders-Smith took the ball hard to the basket. If Sanders-Smith didn’t think that he had a good shot, he wasn’t afraid to pass it to one of his teammates.
North took their time on the offensive end. They got everyone involved in the offense. North did a good of talking to each other.
North looked to make long cross court passes. They could make those passes and came up with layups.
North called a timeout with 9:32 left in the first half. The score was North 18, Brooklyn Center 12.
North’s ODell Wilson IV came up with mid-range jump shots and layups on the offensive end. On the defensive end, Wilson slowed down the guy he was guarding.
Brooklyn Center called a timeout with 5:42 left in the first half. The score was North 26, Brooklyn Center 24.
Brooklyn Center came up with steals and could convert on the offensive end.
The score went back and forth after the timeout. Neither team had more than a 10-point lead.
Brooklyn Center’s Devonta Prince took the ball hard to the basket as he came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.
At halftime, the score was North 39, Brooklyn Center 35.
As the second half got underway North continued to attack the basket and get the ball into the hands of Wilson IV and Da'Kei Hines. Da’Kei Hines.
North called a timeout with 16:02 left in regulation. The score was North 45, Brooklyn Center 38.
North looked to crank up the defensive pressure that they applied.
Brooklyn Center called a timeout with 15:21 left in regulation. The score was North 49, Brooklyn Center 38.  
Wilson tried to come up with a slam dunk midway through the second half.
Brooklyn Center called a timeout with 12:30 left in regulation. The score was North 59, Brooklyn Center 45.
North kept attacking the basket throughout the second half and came up with layups. North’s Isaac Johnson attacked the basket and came up with layups and mid-range jump shots.
Brooklyn Center kept shooting the ball and coming up with shots and making them.  
North came away with the 95-76 victory over Brooklyn Center.
North was led in scoring by Isaac Johnson with 26 points, Wilson with 24 points, and Sanders-Smith with 12 points.
Brooklyn Center was led by Prince with 22 points.
