LAKEVILLE NORTH WENT UP AGAINST CRETIN-DERHAM HALL IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 10, Lakeville North and Cretin-Derham Hall squared off I a boys’ basketball game at Hopkins High School as part of the Breakdown Sports USA Boys’ Basketball Tip Off.
Cretin-Derham Hall pushed the ball down the floor as they looked to score baskets in transition.
Neither team went on a huge run in the first half.
Cretin-Derham Hall’s Daniel Oturu came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
Lakeville North got everyone involved in the offense. They did a good job of passing the ball around the 3-point line.
The first half was very close. Neither team went on a huge run.
At halftime, the score was Cretin-Derham Hall 35, Lakeville North 32.
As the second half got underway both teams continued to push the ball down the floor and look for layups.
Cretin-Derham Hall kept on looking to get the ball into the hands of Oturu. Oturu came up with steals and layups on the offence.
Lakeville North called a timeout with 15:44 left in regulation. The score was Cretin-Derham Hall 44, Lakeville North 35.
Cretin-Derham Hall attacked the basket and came up with shots midway through the second half. Lakeville North countered the attack by attacking the basket and coming up with layups.
The score remained close late in the game. Neither team went on a huge run.
The score was tied at 67 at the end of regulation.
As the overtime period got underway both teams continued to move the ball down the floor and looked to score baskets in transition.
The score went back and forth in the overtime period.
Lakeville North came away with the 82-74 victory over Cretin-Derham Hall.
