MINNEAPOLIS PATRICK HENRY WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS NORTH IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 6, Minneapolis Patrick Henry and Minneapolis North squared off in a boys’ basketball game. Henry came into the game with an overall record of 7-2 and was 5-0 in the conference. North came into the game with an overall record of 9-1 and was 3-0 in the conference. The gym was completely sold out.

North looked to push the ball down the floor and get everyone involved in the offense. North looked to get the ball into the hands of Isaac Johnson and O’Dell Wilson IV.

Henry also could get everyone involved in the game. They swung the ball around the 3-point line

Both teams took a lot of time off the clock on the offensive end. North wasn’t afraid to shoot deep 3-point shots.

Henry called a timeout with 10:05 left in the first half. The score was North 25, Henry 14.

Both teams traded baskets midway through the first half.

North called a timeout with 8:50 left in the first half. The score was North 29, Henry 23.

North’s defensive pressure made it difficult for Henry to come up with shots midway through the first half.

North could score baskets in transition. They used their quickness to try to get around the Henry defense.

At halftime, the score was North 50, Henry 37.

As the second half got underway North continued to push the ball down the floor and looked for their shots. Wilson IV continued to come up with layups.

Henry got the ball into the hands of Savior Scott. Scott was all over the floor. On the offensive end he was able to step up and knock down mid-range jump shots and layups.

North called a timeout with 13:14 left in regulation. The score was North 60, Henry 51.

North continued to attack the basket throughout the first half. Henry struggled to shoot the throughout the game. Henry did however keep on attacking the basket but were not able to come up with shots down the stretch.

North came away with the 92-80 victory over Henry.

The leading scorers for Henry were, Savion Scott with 40 points and Lamar Wood with 23 points.

The leading scorers for North were Isaac Johnson with 27 points, JaQuan Sanders-Smith with 18 points.
