HOPKINS WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS HENRY IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Hopkins and Minneapolis Patrick Henry squared off in a boys’ basketball game. Both teams looked to push the ball down the floor and score layups in transition.
Henry’s Savion Scott came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. He did a good job of getting the ball in spots where he could shoot it. If Scott didn’t think that he had an open shot, he would pass it to one of his teammates.
Hopkins came out shooting cold. They were not able to hit shots early.
Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls.
Henry called a timeout with 10:36 left in the first half. The score was Henry 12, Hopkins 8.
Henry pushed the ball down the floor and scored layups in transition. They got past the Hopkins trapping defense.
After a slow start by Hopkins they found their shooting rhythm with just under 9:00 to play. Their shot started to drop.
Henry’s offense went cold for a period in the first half. They struggled to make shots.
Henry called a timeout with 2:45 left in the first half. The score was Hopkins 33, Henry 21.
Henry kept attacking the basket and came up with layups.
At halftime, the score was Hopkins 39, Henry 26.
As the second half got underway Hopkins continued to attack the basket and got the ball into the hands of Blaise Beauchamp. Beauchamp came up with mid-range jump shots and layups throughout the game. Teammates Ishmael El-Amin and Simon Wright each came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.
Henry struggled to shoot the ball in the second half.
Henry called a timeout with 12:43 left in regulation. The score was Hopkins 55, Henry 35.
Even though Henry struggled shooting the ball they kept shooting the ball.
Henry got the ball into the hands of Lamar Wood. Wood came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.
The Hopkins offense came alive with 9:00 left in the first half. That was the changing point in the game. After Hopkins went on their initial run Henry couldn’t catch up.
Hopkins came away with the 83-53 victory over Henry.
