BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S WENT UP AGAINST HASTINGS IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 17, Benilde-St. Margaret’s and Hastings went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game at St. Thomas Academy.
Benilde pushed the ball down the floor and got everyone involved in the offense. They did a good job of talking on both ends of the court.
Hastings called a timeout with 15:19 left in the first half. The score was Benilde-St. Margaret’s 10, Hastings 3.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s Jamison Battle was all over the floor. On the offensive end of the floor he came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. On the defensive end he was able to slow down the person he was guarding.  
Benilde-St. Margaret’s called a timeout with 12:10 left in the first half. The score was Benilde-St. Margaret’s 13, Hastings 12.
Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls. Neither team went on a run in the first half.
At halftime, the score was Benilde-St. Margret’s 35, Hastings 33.  
As the second half got underway Benilde-St. Margret’s kept on pushing the ball down the floor and scoring baskets in transition.
Hastings had trouble scoring in the second half. They were not able to make shots that they put up.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s Joe Dunn was all over the floor. On the offensive end, he could get to the basket and come up with mid-range jump shots and layups.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s came away with the 79-61 victory over Hastings.
