KAUKAUNA WENT UP AGAINST DELASALLE IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 28, Kaukauna (Wis.) went up against Minneapolis DeLaSalle in a boys’ basketball game. The game was part of the Minnesota vs. Wisconsin Border Battle. The game was played at Apple Valley High School.
DeLaSalle started the game in a man-to-man defense. They also looked to push the ball down the flow in transition.
Kaukauna had a difficult time shooting as they couldn’t make shots that they put up.
DeLaSalle could get everyone involved in the offense. They did a good job of talking to each other on both ends of the floor.
DeLaSalle passed the ball around the 3-point line as they could take time off the clock.
Kaukauna’s Eric Carl came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
DeLaSalle’s Gabe Kalscheur came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. He knew where he was on the floor always.
DeLaSalle could take a lot of time off the clock by swinging the ball
Kaukauna called a timeout with 3:45 left in the first half. The score was DeLaSalle 48, Kaukauna 19.
Even though Kaukauna had a difficult time shooting the ball they kept attacking the basket late in the first half.
At halftime, the score was DeLaSalle 60, Kaukauna 33.
As the second half got underway DeLaSalle continued to get the ball into the hands of Kalscheur and Goanar Mar. Both could make mid-range jump shots and layups.
DeLaSalle continued to push the ball down the floor and got everyone involved in the offense.
Kaukauna kept on feeding Carl and McCabe both of whom stayed hot throughout the second half.
DeLaSalle was a lot quicker than Kaukauna was and Kaukauna struggled shooting the ball throughout the game.
DeLaSalle came away with the 97-65 victory over Kaukauna.
The leading scorers for Kaukauna were Carl with 23 points and McCabe with 19 points.
The leading scorers for DeLaSalle were Kalscheur with 25 points and Mar with 21 points.
