NEW ULM CATHEDRAL TOOK ON MINNEOTA IN THE CLASS A BOYS STATE

New Ulm Cathedral took on Minneota in the boy’s class A semifinal state football game at the Metrodome.

New Ulm kicked off to Minneota to start the semifinal game of the state football tournament. Minneota was not able to get a first down and they had to punt the ball to New Ulm.

New Ulm looked to the air on their first drive. They looked to get first downs. New Ulm did not get the first down on their drive and had to punt it to Minneota.

Minneota looked to the air Walker Hennen came up with a few nice catches midway through the first quarter.

Minneota found the end zone with 2:11 left to go with a Beau Bysse 10 yard touchdown run. Saul Caldron’s extra point attempt was good.

Jacob Cheadle made a 70 yard touchdown run with 11:00 left in the second quarter for Minneota. The extra point attempt good.

With 11:00 left to go in the second quarter the score was Minneota 14 and New Ulm 0.

New Ulm’s Ted Skillings scored a touchdown run on a 4-yard run with 7:16 left to go in the second quarter. Danm Simon’s kick was good.

After that touchdown the score was Minneota 14 and New Ulm 7.

Minneota looked to score midway through the second quarter. They did that as Brandon Anderson ran it in for a two yard touchdown with 4:41 left to go in the second quarter. Saul Calderon’s extra point attempt failed.

With 4:41 left to go in the second quarter the score was Minneota 20 and New Ulm 7.

New Ulm looked to go deep late in the quarter. Aaron Pfaff found the end zone for New Ulm with 2:54 left to go in the second quarter. The extra point attempt was good.

With 2:54 left to go in the second quarter the score was Minneota 20 and New Ulm Cathedral 14.

At halftime the score was Minneota 20 and New Ulm 14.

As the third quarter got underway Minneota kicked off to New Ulm. New Ulm kept the ball on the ground on the first play of the drive of the third quarter.

New Ulm found the end zone with 9:15 left to go in the third quarter as Collin Wendinger scored a touchdown on the 33-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was no good.

With 9:15 left to go in the third quarter the score was tied at 20.

Minneota got the ball back after the New Ulm touchdown. Minneota wanted to continue to run their plays. They wanted to keep attacking the pressure. Minneota got a 53 yard touchdown by Cal Swedzinski. The extra point attempt was good.

With 6:29 left to go in the third quarter the score was Minneota 27 and New Ulm 20.

New Ulm got the ball back after the touchdown. They were not able to get a first down. They had to punt the ball back to Minneota.

Minneota looked to score late in the third quarter. With 1:12 Adam Josephson scored a short yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was no good. With 1:12 left to go in the third quarter the score was Minneota 33 and New Ulm 20.

At the end of the third quarter the score was Minneota 33 and New Ulm 20.

New Ulm got the ball to start the fourth quarter. They threatened to score on their first drive of the quarter. Aaron Pfaff found the end zone with 11:09 left to go ran it in for a four-yard touchdown. That was his second touchdown of the game. The extra point attempt was no good.

With 11:07 left to go in the fourth quarter the score was Minneota 33 and New Ulm 26.

Minneota got the ball after the New Ulm touchdown. Minneota was not able to convert on downs and they had to punt the ball back to New Ulm.

New Ulm was intercepted with 8:01 left to go in the quarter. That gave New Ulm the ball back. New Ulm kept on pounding the ball down the field. They were able to get another first down. New Ulm put together a nice drive late in the quarter.

New Ulm’s Brian Nosbush scored a touchdown with 3:43 left to go in the fourth quarter. The extra point attempt was good. The score after the touchdown was New Ulm 34 and Minneota 33.

The final of the game was New Ulm 34 and Minneota 33.
